I don't know what day it is anymore...

Good day all.  If I'm the first one here, I might just keep resurrecting this thread.

Today has been a busy day.  We had a 9 o clock meeting with a supplier, and of course the Etch comes in late and says, "I thought it was at 9:30."  And then left the meeting early.  It was someone making a sales call to us, so she didn't need to be there, but it's still rude.

While I was still in the meeting, she set up an appointment for me for someone who needed a brochure.  She set the appointment up for the minute I came back from lunch.

And then I had a huge project to work on with a tight deadline set arbitrarily by the customer that took the rest of the morning.

I didn't go to lunch, it was just easier that way.

The customer had no clue what he wanted.  He couldn't even tell me why he wanted a brochure.  So after I helped him with his business plan so we would know what to put on his flyer, I sent him on his way.

Also, there's a couple things we have to get from other suppliers in town, and one of those suppliers is going out of business.  So we're going to buy the equipment from them and start doing it in house, and of course the digital part of that is up to me.  But, they're holding on to the equipment until the end of the month.  We have something we need from that machine, so the plan was that I would go over to run it so I can learn how to use it.  Which means another hour or so and more to stuff in my brain.

Even though I'm behind where I'd like to be, right now I'd rather just go home and start fresh tomorrow.

I think you made me tired just reading all the stuff you had to do Mz. I can't believe the etch set an appt for you without your knowing it.

I've been occupied myself today. Accomplished some things. Restrained myself from actually decapitating someone (twice). Reminded myself that I need a new job. Cursed the headhunters I called last Friday for not calling me back.

Here is a first - I actually had a good, productive phone call with a DC office of tax and revenue employee today. I had four issues for which I called. I only spent 10-12 minutes on hold so that was a pretty good start. Before we were finished I even thanked him for having knowledge and being able to answer my questions. I explained to him how I have been passed around to multiple people, left messages, didn't get returned calls, have been in contact with people who say they will do things that don't, etc. And he did it all and without giving me attitude. It was nice.

But I don't want to do any more of this work. It is almost time to go home but it will still be here in the morning. I know I scheduled the 25th off. I just wonder if I bothered to tell the boss. Certainly I must have.

Hey ya.

Sounds like you two were busy today!

I was in and out of here today, but didn't see any activity and didn't start a page either.

I worked in the shop most of the morning trying to finish up a project for a guy that needs it done to take with him on a little trip.

Logan had baseball practice tonight, but shortly after getting there, we got kicked off the field. Apparently the other team had reserved that field, but our coaches thought it didn't need to be reserved. So, it was a short practice.

Let's see what the rest of the evening brings.

I know, right. I was stunned. DC has always been hard to deal with. This guys got it done. Oh, and he didn't have a foreign accent. Yes, you can get a lot of that down there when you call. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Good day, all. Looks like I have finished up my busy work for the week. Now I'm not sure what I will do to pass the time for the rest of the day. Little Man got back from Mexico yesterday. I already had a nice text chat with him to catch him up on what all has gone on here this week. It has been kinda crazy.

In a bit here, I'm going out to lunch with one of my friends. That will be a nice break from the office for a little while. If all goes well, I might try to sneak out a bit early to get a start on enjoying the weekend. It will be busy, but hopefully not too heinous.

Hope everybody has a wonderful Friday.

TGIFF

In good news, when I called that customer, she didn't answer. I left a voicemail. But that also means that I don't know when she is going to call. I hope I don't get any surprise drop ins today, because 1) I hate it when customers come in without calling first, and 2) that's surely when that customer will call. Luckily, she won't be the drop in.

After work, I'm going to go buy me a pair of running shoes. I'm going to get me another pair of workout pants at some point this weekend too (probably from Goodwill). Having just one pair of exercise pants isn't cutting it, and regular shorts or pants don't cut it.

Ah yes... we have reached the juncture in Friday where people are now desperately shotgunning out e-mails trying to get someone to fix their issue, even if the issue has nothing to do with the person they are shotgunning the e-mail to. And since Little Man is still out, I'm getting his overflow of stupid e-mails as well. E-mail chain clearly indicates that a switch site tech needs to get with a switch site tech at AT&T to get a trunk turned up and tested. None of the site techs copied have acknowledged that they have done so. So why not send it to Little Man? Despite the fact that he has never been a site tech, nor does he have access to AT&T's switch, he can surely fix it right? Oh wait... OOO reply. Hey... let's send it to Michele. Never mind that she isn't a site tech either and equally doesn't have access to AT&T's switch.

So it's Monday. Good day all.

The good part about Mondays is that on Monday nights I go to half-priced martini night with friends.

Brian's also doing my laundry for me today. We were supposed to do it over the weekend, but ran out of time, and I wasn't feeling all that great last night. So he offered to do it all today while I'm at work. I'm spoiled.

Morning. It was a beautiful weekend and now I believe we are to have rain off and on for the next four days. Just as long as it is beautiful once again for the holiday weekend (Fri-Mon) I don't mind the rain. I just have to survive a short week. As usual, I have scheduled myself to be off on Friday. Unfortunately, it looks as if I'll be spending most of it cleaning and preparing for company on Saturday. My family is coming to my house this year to celebrate my birthday. Usually I have to go home to my mom's.

Mz - When DH is finished with your laundry, do you think he'll come over and do mine? And the towels? I too just didn't get to it this weekend and didn't want to start it at 9pm last night. I suppose I could've thrown the towels into the washer. It is okay if those sit in the dryer without being folded right away.

I woke up feeling good, but somehow I've managed to develop a headache this morning. I wouldn't mind if that would go away now.

Good day, all. It has been a weird one for me thus far. The nephew had court again today so I went to that and got in the office late. Before I left the house, I got to witness the Kev-mo throwing a hissy fit for no good reason I could see... come to find out that he has been unmedicated for a while now. Guess it is going to be a fun week for me. Alas, the garage door was open so one of my neighbors witnessed his temper tantrum too. I'd suppose I'll have to explain that to her at some point. Pretty much what she saw was him obviously having some sort of tantrum and me standing there looking surprised and asking , "WTF, Kev?!?!?!"

Far as the nephew goes... court again on June 18. I thought he co-offender was making some sort of deal today, but looks like he just got continued as well. I'd suppose the wheels of justice grind slowly.

Not a great day on the Pambo front either. She went in to get her neuro-stimulator reprogrammed last week and things did not go so well. The guy reprogramming it made her have a seizure (he's done that 3 times now) right there in the office. Set her up with a new program which was supposed to keep that from happening again by running the device for 5 minutes, then shutting off for 1 minute, then restarting. Apparently within an hour or so of leaving the office she had to manually shut it off to keep from seizing. Now she says as soon as she turns it on she can feel a seizure coming. Not sure what the answer is there.

Otherwise, seems to be an okay enough day. If this is how Monday is going, I'm not thinking this is gonna be an easy week though. We'll see.

Hope everybody else is having a great day.

I understand the hissy fit thing, Mema. On our last day of vacation, I had to apologize for Brian 3 different times. I'm sure the actual fits are different, but still, it's like living with a toddler. I don't know what Brian's deal was, he took his medication just the way he's supposed to, but sometimes it just doesn't seem to work. I was pretty mad about it (I was very tempted to just drive away from the airport and leave him behind), but he did apologize later.

Man, I hope they figure the programming for Pambo's device soon, that's scary!!!

Thanks. Sorry you had to go through that with Brian. I sure hope he wasn't acting like Kev. I wasn't dealing with mere petulance... it was full blown throwing things around, kicking stuff in the garage, screaming, and cussing. All this over he went to take the trash bin to the curb and the neighbor (who ultimately witnessed the fit) informed him that the trash truck had already been around. I came on the scene when he was trying to put the bin back in the garage. I knew he was in a bad mood, but wasn't quite expecting that.

His meds have been working for him for the last few years, as long as he takes them. He does know that he needs them, so it is not one of those things where he thinks he is all better. His deal is that in his mind, paying for his meds is a low priority versus buying whatever "thing" he feels like he needs or buying cookies and ice cream. (No, I'm not kidding... just like a little kid!) He runs himself out of money, then he can't go get his meds when he needs to. Mind you, he will tell me he needs coffee from the store if I'm going. He will ask me for gas money or cigarettes... which he did over the weekend... but no mention of the lack of meds. He seems to think that he can ride it out til payday and no one will be any the wiser. WRONG! I'm out of patience for this circus, honestly.

I'm not entirely convinced that the programming is the only issue with Pambo's device. Obviously it can make things much, much worse, but I think that there is either something defective with the device itself or there is a problem with where the electrodes are located. To me it seems that someone needs to look at those things. Unfortunately, moving electrodes means opening her skull again. There are no good options here.

I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find a copy of Little Piece of Dixie by Blackberry Smoke. It is a 2009 cd that apparently is hard to find. There are a few on Amazon for an outrageous price. Sadly, I am actually looking for the cd. A friend of mine would like to have it. I tried a few places but can't seem to locate a copy. Being a 2009 cd you would think it wouldn't be that hard to find. I guess there just weren't a lot of copies available. Would be nice to find anything by them including the EPs.

If anyone has any thoughts about it let me know.

Yeah, that is pretty scary if this device can make her have seizures like that. I wish she could find an answer. I feel sorry for myself when I have a headache for a few hours, I can't imagine what it's like for her having them all the time.

I have no advice for the tantrum department.

Amazon.Com lists them with both a "new" price and a "used" price.

I wish there was a good answer for Pambo too. The device does provide some relief when it is not making her seize, so it is not all a bad deal. They just need to put her in the hospital and work on the programming in a continuously supervised environment or possibly do something different with the electrodes. This is just crazy the way it is being managed.

Yeah... nothing really to say about the tantrums. He has a mental illness, so it is not like it is going away ever. The only somewhat answer for him is the meds, but I can't force him to take them. There is a pretty obvious answer in it for me... I've just been trying to "do the right thing" and help him get on his feet so he can have a shot at leading a reasonably productive life. I'm seriously rethinking my position on that right now.

Brian's is a little less rage-y, but not too entirely different.  On vacation, my grandparents took us out to lunch to a restaurant that they like but Brian's not a big fan of.  He ordered, then went outside until the meal came, ate, then spent the rest of the time outside while we finished our meal.  We played dominoes, and he was sulking because he wasn't winning and threw the scorebook on the floor.  When we got off the flight home, there was a tiny lady with the airline pushing a larger elderly lady down the ramp in a wheelchair and Brian was being impatient, so as soon as there was room, he literally ran around them and made a big enough display of it, the ladies were asking what was wrong with him.

He's not normally that rude, especially to my grandparents.  He's got a nice bipolar/PTSD co cktail that's usually in check with the meds, but sometimes it's just not enough.  When things like this happen, they'll up the dosage, but it's high enough now that I'm afraid it might be time to try something new.  I love Dr. Jekyll enough to tolerate Mr. Hyde, but sometimes when Mr. Hyde's around, I wonder.

Moving on, I really hope they can get the device figured out, especially if it's helping.  If they fix it, is it a "cure," or just a help?
