Product Review

I think JD started a thread for this a while ago, but I couldn't find it.

What are some new products you've tried recently? Do you like ot dislike them?

This morning a lady at work gave me an Advant Edge bar. She didn't like it because she thought it was too sweet. Well, I don't like it either, but for other reasons. It's got a weird, dry brownie like, texture. And it leaves a strange taste in my mouth. It's got 15 grams of sugar in it, yet the ingredient list also says there's Splenda in it. It's about the size of a candy bar, but I couldn't finish it. I give it two thumbs down.

That is funny you bring this up- I used my Mr Clean Auto Dry car washing system this weekend. It rocks! Two thumbs up for sure! It is amazing how ez it is to use and how awesome your car will look! The cleaner takes everything off the car and the filter really leaves your car without a spot!

I haven't heard of that. Is it one of those things you attach to your hose?

Yes- it comes with a special soap and filter. I have had the same one for over a year and at least a dozen washes! It is the best! Worth every penny!

I'm still very happy with the speaker system I got for my laptop here in the office. It is the Logitch X-230 which has two small desktop speakers and a subwoofer that I have on the floor under the desk. I got them on sale and for only $30, they sound really great.

i got a sunbeam electric grill (like foreman) for my birthday.  yeah, i really like it.  the grills come off so they can be washed either by hand or dishwasher, and it has a  15 minute timer which is also the on/off control.  and the little grease catcher thingy is on the side instead of the front.  oh, yeah, and it opens flat so that meat can be cooked on one side and vegies on the other side.  nothing beats the outdoor grill, but this is nice to have around and easy to clean.

I got mine at Office Max but I expect they are available lots of places. I've had these for a couple months so I'm sure they are not on sale any more, but if you watch, you could probably catch them on sale somewhere.

Thanks Web- they have coupons sometimes too- I will check into it!

Also DS- I have been eyeing them for a while. Glad to know they work good. It would be good for us when the propane runs out!

We got the huge stand up Foreman grill as a wedding present. It works great, but it's too big. You can take the grill off to clean, and the nonstick coating is great, but it's too big to fit in the sink! Thumbs up for the grill, thumbs down for the size.

Okay I had to share,  but I know most girls said they did not wear much make up, but anyway I broke down last week and finally bought the mineral foundation. I did not buy the Bare Essentials though, I bought the L'oreal version and I am hooked! It does cover good, lasts all day and makes you face look and feel healthier. I have the worst skin, so I had to share that it really works. It is well worth the money, and it really was not much more than regular foundation.

Do you have dry or oily skin? Because my biggest problem is the oil slick that I get from most foundations.

Very oily- and that is not a big issue with this stuff.  Still some minor oil, but not even close to what a liquid foundation does.

I keep seeing the infomercials, but I refused to pay that much. L'Oreal makes it and I think that Neutrogena does too, but L'oreal was cheaper. Try it you will like

I've taken to using the Bare Minerals by Bare Essentials.  In my mind, the stuff is obscenely expensive, but it's worth it. I like it way better than regular foundations.

I use Bare Minerals too, and I love it! It is expensive, but it also lasts forever.

another kind of makeup that I love is a rice based foundation..I bought it at Sally's beauty supply..its so soft and silky yet still covers well. It was like $12.99 if I remember right.

i've been taking emer'gen-c for about a week since i started getting sick and i have to say, this stuff is good.  it has 1000 mg of vitamin c and also b vitamins.  i've been taking the citrius lite and mixing 1 pkg with 1/2 pkg of the crystal lite lite to go orange flavor.  this time i won't be going to the doctor for a shot in the butt of antibiotic!  i didn't know, but there is an emer'gen-c to boost the imune system which i think i will switch to.  i picked it up at walgreens.alacer corp - emergen-c - 36 packets (8g each)

ok so I got this and so far so good. I would probably love the Bare Minerals better but I like this one so far. Monday will be the true test though. I hope my Mom doesn't notice!

I use the Neutrogena version.  Also nice.  2 thumbs up!  I wanted to see if I my oily, oily skin agreed with mineral makeup before I committed to the expensive stuff...but I really like this stuff so I may not switch.  I am not the oil slick I was...which is amazing.

hmmm my face still feels kinda oily with the Loreal but that also may have something to do with the time of month it is. But I may look into the other one then. But I see that Avon has one too. Work sells it and it is has a $7.99 intro price.

If you have really oily skin, I've heard the cream to powder makeup is really good. But if you don't have really oily skin, it'll suck all the moisture out. Personally, I have combination skin, so I've never tried it.

i have combination skin. So when I tried the cream to powder it caked up in all the dry areas. I like the mineral base but I am just checking my options.
