Good day all.  Well, I think Floyd's settling in.  He was sitting on his rock basking in his light when we left this morning.

I start in a weeks time!  Don't know why or how...but I did!!!  Registration forms lodged and I'm ready to go!!  But cool!!!  Another type of adventure for me!!

Just so you can say you did?

My day got a little better.

About 11:30, I could hear an engine revving but couldn't see where it was coming from. After a bit, I noticed that the neighbor lady was trying to get their 4wd pickup around and behind my shop to their horse pen through the snow.

She was going forward as far as she could, then would spin to back up, then go a little more foreward, etc. She spent about 15 minutes getting about first 100 yards or so. Back and forth, back and forth. The whole time I was thinking "I've never seen anyone try so hard to get stuck".

You should also know that this lady doesn't like me, and the feeling is mutual. She doesn't like me  because they used to own my shop. It was all part of their property. The had a friend that needed a building like this, they didn't need it, so they made him a good deal and sold him this building off the corner of their property. The "friend" they sold it to turned around and sold it to me a year later and made good money on it. They've hated me every since. Yeah, makes a lot of sense to be mad at me for their friend making money off the good deal they made him.

This feeling rubbed off to their then young son who would mess with me all the time and they thought it was funny. Almost every day was always exciting to find what he had been up to the night before. Also she has always been the kind of person that if she needed something from me, she was my best long-lost buddy. If she didn't need anything, then I was back to the bad guy again. Also, her and her husband both think they are just the cat's meow. Big attitudes coupled with no common sense does not impress me much.

Annnnnnnnnnyway, I watched out the window here just waiting to see the look  on her face when she finally acheived her goal of getting the truck stuck. She finally got her pickup back to the horse pen. I was starting to feel I was going to be disappointed. As she was trying to turn it around, she drove into one of the deespest spots she could and it wouldn't go any further. She really steped on the gas and the biggest move the pickup made was down. All the way down through three layers of separate snow storms. Even down through the first, hardest, frozen layer of snow and ice we got in December. It far enough down that the frame of the truck is now resting on the top layer of snow.

Congratulations neighbor lady. It took you nearly 1/2 hour, but you finally succeeded in getting your truck stuck. The horse pen is about 60 yards from the back door of their house. I highly suspect she just didn't want to walk across the snow to go check on the horse.

As I've said before, I'm actually thankful for the truly ignorant. Without them, the rest of us wouldn't know how much common sense we really do have.
