Tomorrow I go under the knife.  I am lucky enough to get my spine fused between L4 and S1. (Surgery is scheduled for 1 pm)

Apparently they do this by taking a piece of my hip to use as the bone graft and then put a couple of steel rods in place with titanium screws.

Believe it or not, I am really looking forward to it.  I have been in constant pain for just a little over ten years now. 

This will be my third back surgery also in as many years.

I am told this may be the solution to end my pain forever.

Of course the first question I asked the Doc. was can I play golf?

The answer is Yes.

Please keep your fingers crossed and I would mind a prayer or two.

Check back with you soon and torture you all with Walking in Memphis.

Good Luck CP, you will do just fine, My friend's dad had a couple of discs fused and it helped him tremendously.

I wish you only the very best. Enjoy the drugs, though!  Seriously, I know back pain.  I went to the ER a month ago due to back pain.  I couldn't walk! It sucks. Good luck

It's amazing what they can do now. My stepdad had some work done back in the day... he was a football player, never really did much to help him. Just last year he had a couple of knees fixed up, he's out cutting the lawn, shoveling etc. I won't even speak about luck. Take care.
