LAS VEGAS - Lauren Nelson, an aspiring Broadway star, was crowned Miss America on Monday night, the second year in a row that a Miss Oklahoma has won the crown.

Nelson, 20, of Lawton, Okla., is a student at the University of Central Oklahoma and wants to get her master’s degree in musical theater.

Shilah Phillips, the first black Miss Texas, was first runner-up, and Miss Georgia, Amanda Kozak, was second runner-up. Viewers voted Miss Alabama, Melinda Toole, as Miss Congeniality.

We watched the last 10 minutes of it last night. That was only because it is on CMT now and my wife switched to CMT to see what was on.

CMT has become the Country version of MTV. They spend less time running music than they do other stuff.

Look at them all holding hands anticipating the winner, when deep down inside you can see it in their faces that they are thinking, "I hope she doesn't win, that bi#$^%!" 

The whole thing is so phoney bologney!!  They'd tear each other's eyes out if you let them.
