Does anybody here ride motorcycles?

I was just curious...does anyone ride? If so, what do you ride?

I grew up in Sturgis garougal, I had two Enduro's, a Yamaha 125 and a 250.
Also had a Suzuki 250 street bike (my first one) and a Honda 750. I was a poor boy. But as time went on I got rid of my last street bike about 9 years ago.

Aw, what made you stop riding? What was your dream bike?

My husband had a Katana but sold it because it was hard for me to ride on it with him. He didn't want to go without me.
We had intentions of getting a different bike. We have looked a lot, but financially it doesn't work right now. With gas prices the way they have been it sure would have been nice to still have that bike.

Would you ride on back or ride your own, Woo?

I just ride on back. I have no desire to have my own.

I met AC and she is terrified of motorcycles, she had a bad experience before she met me on the back of one. The reason I gave it up was easy, it was either spend the time with the girl of my dreams or a piece of metal with rubber tires....

I wouldn't mind having me a Fatboy!

That's cool - so you need a bagger or something, so it's like riding a two-wheel caddy! {{lol}}

I have an old Suzuki 550 sitting in the garage.

I used to ride it back and forth to work, but after the boy came along, I was either dropping him off or picking him up every day. Car seats aren't really made for motorcycles.

That only left riding just for fun and no more than I could do that, it wasn't worth justifying the cost of taxes and insurance. It also needs two new tires which are about $80 each.

So, for now, it sits parked in the garage with two flat tires, expired plates, and no insurance.

Aw, it's so sad to see a good bike in retirement! But it's hard to find time when family transportation is a matter to consider.

What about you garougal? Ride? Been to Sturgis?

Riggs has a picture of AC and I under the Webcam last year in Sturgis somewheres.

Hey, I even found a picture of it . . . although mine doesn't look that good. The paint is pretty faded on mine.

I do ride, but I have never been to Sturgis and I don't own my own bike. I have the priviledge of riding loaner Harleys right now so I haven't been to eager to make the investment in my own bike. {{lol}} The coolest thing I've been to, besides Harley's 100th anniversary, was last year's AMA Womens Motorcycling Conference in Athens, GA! So cool to see so many women riding!

I can see why you opted for the girl. But yes, a Fatboy is a sweet sweet ride...like Road Candy.
