DOVER, N.H. -- A
well-known auctioneer from Lyman, Maine, who disappeared nearly five
years ago after telling his wife he was going to get a cup of coffee
has been located -- in Pennsylvania. But 71-year-old Claude Van Tassel apparently has no plans to return to his old home or to be reunited with his family.
Van Tassel, a father of 12, was traced through an F-B-I database and is
alive and well. His wife and family were notified but police would not
divulge his location because he does not want to be found. 
Van Tassel was shopping with his wife, Beatrice, at the Ames store in
Dover, New Hampshire, when he vanished and was reported missing in
April 2002. Dover's interim police chief, Anthony Colarusso, said that in view of the new developments, the case is closed.
