did anyone watch the last episode of Reba?

just curious if anyone here watched it, and how did you like it?   I personally wished they would've given Reba something to do, the ending was all about Van and Cheyenne getting their own place and Brock and Barbara Jean's reconciliation.   I loved how they didn't play a finale for tears but kept it funny through the last shot.  I also loved the way they all posed together for a final snapshot together and then it flashed back to the ending of the pilot episode when they took a snapshot together when Van and Cheyenne got married.

The show was never anything more than a cross between Roseanne and Mama's Family for the new millennium, but that, alongside What I Like About You, always made for great guilty pleasure television and it's sad to see it go.

I've never watched this show, but I like finales and wanted to watch.  But I forgot.

You forgot to remind me Anf!

On another note, Thursday is the end of the OC.  I GOTTA watch that one.  I am a perfect microcosm of their ratings problem.

I love the show the first season, it was a real guilty pleasure.  By the second season I started tiring of the storyline being the same every week (Ryan getting in a fight with somebody), by the third season I stopped watching.

They had such a nice dynamic among the cast, if they could have had more shows just featuring less dramatic going's on with the characters I think they could have held their audience better.

At any rate, the producers are promising a very good wrap-up on Thursday.

I'm really surprised how quickly OC-mania dried up to be honest.  I figured that they would easily be able to carry on well-past graduation like 90210 did, but even One Tree Hill (which has always been seen as the lesser teen soap, that premiered the same season) is still kicking while The OC is wrapping up.  Of course, Veronica Mars is the best teen program on television but it looks like we're not going to see another season after this.

With Reba, I heard Lifetime wants to do a spinoff with Van and Cheyenne (obviously they cannot afford Reba's salary to have her full-time, Reba's salary was part of the reason CW decided to drop it while renewing lower-rated shows) so it might not be the last we see of these characters.

Hey, that's kind of cool.

I like to hear of a network deciding to cancel a show based on cost.

I know it's not unusual, but a littler network like CW it's particularly cool.

TV's a business, and the network deserves to make a profit too.  Friends was running into a lot of financial problems with the six of them all making a lot of money per episode.

There's only so much money in the pot, and if these actors and actresses can't be motivated to work for a weekly pay-check that it would take me several YEARS to earn then I say let the show end!

I wonder what the highest amount each of the folks in Family Ties earned at their peak?  Bet it was nothing by todays standards.

with FT, you never know. Michael J. Fox probably was getting a great salary after Back To The Future, you know NBC was probably scraping all they could to keep him on the show instead of leaving to go full time into movies

I also think Reba ended partially because she was ready to go back full-time into her music career. She was one of the most prolific artists for a long time, but in the six years since the show premiered, she only released one studio album, and she hasn't gone on tour since then.

Personally, the Van and Cheyenne spinoff may be hilarious. Reba herself was nothing more than the straight man to all the goofy supporting characters
