Need help with E's Friday homework

For Black History Month, E's class has to come dressed up as a black person and share one fact about them with the class. Some kids are doing: Michael Jordan, Oprah, the Williams Sisters (the twins), even Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix!

Any ideas??

How about Janet Jackson? (Oh wait, the school might not like the wardrobe misfunction...)

Seriously, how about Maya Angelou? I'm not sure how she would dress, but she could carry a book around.

Or Venus Williams, the tennis champ. She could dress in tennis gear and carry a racket around.

Someone is already doing the Williams sisters MZ.

Emily LOVES music and so I need to find someone musical for her. Right now she wants to be Raven cause she is a Cheetah Girl, but I am trying to pick someone with a little bit of history or a better role model. Though I do like Raven and right now she is a good role model.

I'd just go to Wikipedia to look up a fact for whoever you choose.

Oh how I love that music, even though Diana was terribly miscast in the movie.  Yes, Little E can go on and on about Miss Ross!  Nothing boring about that lady!
