Cool! I really like this! It is so good for 3 reasons: 1. It will remind people of a song they haven't heard in a long time 2. It will alert people to a song they might not have known was even part of your list in the first place 3. I won't have to look at "I Can't Fight This Feeling" every single day. (Now if only I could not have to hear it every single day... Sigh...)

A song like "Can't Fight This Feeling" might not get played as often if it's not listed on the now playing page like that.
Although I would like to re-add a Top 20 at some point, I would probably put it BENEATH the random 20, and I've learned how to strip the counts off of the listing, so there should be less jockeying for chart placement. I really think people see a favorite song of theirs is let's say, 3 requests short of jumping over the song in front of it and they get hell-bent on getting it over the hump.
The list is loaded differently for EVERY person, so if 20 of us have the now playing page open, we're all seeing 20 different choices!
Plus, if you're one of those folks who just leaves the Now Playing page open while you listen & work, it auto-refreshes every 90 seconds with a new 20 songs.
You think people actually "jockey" for placement? (Honestly, I forget about that list & almost never look at it...)
Every 90 seconds?! That's a lot. Is that an automatic setting?

I don't think MOST people jockey for placement, but I have no doubt we had one or two people doing it awhile ago. They seemed hell bent on getting their song up the list.
You can only play a song once every eight hours, and the same person would request it almost exactly eight hours apart.
This also becomes an issue with independent artists, who have rabid fans that will try to artificially inflate the artists standing.
We had that happen with LEO, a girl from another country requested it over and over and never tuned in once.
The setting is automatically set at 90 seconds because the page needs to update to show the latest NOW PLAYING song.
Ah, Leo. I remember those. Dedicated by someone different each time, when it was obviously the same person. I liked those songs. (Reminds me - I should request myself some Leo tomorrow.)
Oh, thanks for the explanation. I like this idea already.
