Baseball America picks the Milwaukee Brewers to WIN the division!

It's true!

I can't remember that happening since 1983!!!

Too bad Fuzzy ain't around anymore, because they also pick the Phillies to edge out the Met's for the division title.

We coulda had some good trash talkin' goin' on.

..... In the National League, I'd go with the Mets, or St. Louis... sorry Riggs.

Oh, that's probably just because you don't know about our Brew Crew Darlene. We're baseballs best kept secret.

We're better than the Cards this year. They lost 3/5'ths of their pitching staff.

We have the best pitching staff in the Central division.

We're strong at every position. You watch, we're winning it this year.

All five of our starters have career era's in the low 4.00's or better. Not many staffs can say that.

Look at this lineup and AVERAGE performance numbers.

C - Estrada (.300 - 15hr - 70rbi)
1B - Fielder (.280 - 40hr - 100rbi)
2B - Weeks (.290 - 25hr - 80rbi)
SS - Hardy (.280 - 15hr - 60rbi)
3B - Counsel (.250 - 5hr - 50rbi)
OF - Jenkins (.270 - 25hr - 80rbi) Contract year, should do better than this
OF - Hall (.280 - 35hr - 100rbi)
OF - Hart (.280 - 20hr - 70rbi)

Beyond that we have Tony Gwynn Jr. ready to play and Ryan Braun should take over at third mid-year, he's a power hitter that can hit for average too.

Mark it Darlene, this is our year to FINALLY make the playoffs again.

All those numbers I posted are AVERAGE expectations from those guys. One of two of them have big years and we're in business!

Well, I sure hope so for you JR, in the National League there a few good teams to watch for this year. Mets, Dodgers, Phillie, St. Louis, and Atlanta.... but as long as the Sox make it in the American League East, I am not too concerned about any of the National League.

A guy I work w/ went to Vegas a week ago, I gave him a $20 to put on the Red Sox to win the American League Pennant....

Let's all hope!! Gooooooooooooooo Sox!!!!!

See, the problem with the Brewers is no one knows any of these guys.

But one trip to the playoffs and all of a sudden everyone will be drooling over Fielder, Weeks, Hardy & Hall.

wow I knew some money was freed up when carlos lee left, but I did not know that overall the payroll went up THAT much! This Anistasio is smart! If he puts a contender on the field, packs us in the stands, he will recoup that double this season I bet!

man this would have been one opening day I would've love to have been at!!! it was beautiful weather and they played brilliantly!!

its been 10 yrs since I went to opening day!! even back then I had my fill of the drunks and said I'd never go back on opening day ever!! I think it was true value or hardware hank that gave everyone a free baseball?? on opening day!?! and all the drunks were throwing them on the field. omg I hated that day!!

plus the turkeys from the bar running the bbq we were at were all bombed and were feeding themselves first! it was soo cold the only way to stand it was to get numb-drunk!! blanket in a bottle!!

I remember singing WHO songs because it was announced the who was coming to town for the 25th anniversary of the release of Quadrophenia! went to that later that summer...
