What's in your backyard.....?

Here's your homework everyone, get your digital camera, and take a picture of what is in your back yard.  I have a few things growing and blooming, I'll post in a day or two..

Won't you join me??

Next time I take the dog out I'll get a couple shots of the yard.

The only yard work that has been done is mowing. So not much to look at yet. The work crew hasn't even worked on the garden yet. But I am not opposed to this. smile

I'll do it later today. I really don't have a back yard, but I have a portion of cement and a yard area.

my yards are unimpressive... we are still working on the inside of the house. but i'll see what i can come up with.  if it was late summer, the poison sumac would be a beautiful rust/red blankstare

Okay, I'll start.

There's a debate here about which is the front door and which is the back.  From the outside, the kitchen door looks like our front door.  But some people argue that the front door opens into the living room.  So, I took pictures of both.

The kitchen door faces north, so that's where our plants are.  In the window box (that won't stay on the window, that's why it's on the ground) is some catnip, the big pot has creeping phlox, and the small pot has a small pansy.  The pot on the windowsill with the pinwheel in it just has sand in it so my husband can use it as an ashtray, and the pinwheel sends light in the kitchen that the cats like to chase. If you can see inside the window, there's a shelf with a philodendron and an aloe plant, and usually an orange cat.

The air conditioner is outside the living room, and the cement patio is bigger, so I consider that the back yard.  I took two pictures, one facing the yard and one facing the house.  The plant by the door is a lily of the valley.  When I took the picture I thought, gee, that looks bare.  I assumed it was because when we're not using them, we take our fold up chairs inside.  I guess that's a good thing, because now I realize the little table I just bought a couple weeks ago is gone.  Darn thieves!  It's just a cheap little plastic table!

In addition, darn people who don't clean up after their dogs!  I stepped in dog poop while taking these pictures.  So, I also took one more picture from the window of our "den" where the computer is at.

My backyard is new to me, so i haven't really explored it all yet. On the upper level they just built a new deck for both apartments to use...it's lovely and sunny! There's a couple big trees and an entrance to the basement back there. Ive seen a couple grills, although I don't know if they belong to my neighbor or are abandoned by previous tenants. The trees prevent much grass from growing, so the landlord is resodding sometime soon. To one side of the yard you can see the little valley where the trolley used to run through between the properties. It's a pretty cool set-up...it feels homey! biggrin

Yes, D. Those are some nice pics. smile.gif

Same as JD here, not much going on yet. Our trees are just now getting leaves on them good. The only flowers coming up are the dandelions, and even those, I sprayed on Saturday so they are looking kind of sickly today.
