Friday

It's probably been one of the worst weeks of my life- thank God for Xanax, wine, prayers and work. I thank God for you all too, but I am not in a chatty mood. My husband had a major relapse and has hurt our family once again. Some days I am not sure how much more I can take. (Of him no more;() My check card has been being used without my consent too- and believe it or not it is not him. I ordered some stuff from JCpenney's a month back. I had my card cancelled and they are investigating the card is being used out of state-

hubby and boy fight, water pipe burst, 12 hour work days, boy skips gym three days in a row, hubby gone with 2000 for 5 days and now the credit card issue...

But E and I have muffins for mom this morning, bible camp tonight, dance rehearsal and tee ball game tomorrow and her big stage production on Sunday. She is dancing to Baby Workout by Jackie Wilson- I might have to send it to JD for a Sunday night show. So as yucky as I can feel, I have the best distraction and friends ever.

Thanks DS and Darlene:)

Have a great and I will be around... oh yeah I am in my home, he has left this time.

Gosh THIS is why I stay gone....hmm

Ruby, You know I am thinking of you, and I sent you a PM!!

I am so sore today!!! I went to roller derby practice last night. The captain said I did very good for not being on skates for 10 years. There were girls of all ages, body types and personalities all around last night. I had fun, but I think it's going to take me awhile to get used to it. I worked muscles I haven't used in years. My practice was from 7 - 9 PM and I got home at 9:30 PM.... today I'm going to look for my own skates! The skates they lent me were horrible! I fell one time unexpectedly, and landed on my right hand, so that is sore too.

We actually had drill that you had to touch one knee down, and get up, that was the hardest one... we did over and over again!

Well, have a great friday. TGIF!!

Howdy folks,

Happy Friday.

Ruby, sorry about yet another round of troubles.

My wife and her sister-in-law are taking my mother-in-law to a nursing home today. She needs more help than we are able to provide now. The ride to and from dialysis three times a week is just too hard on her too, so she is moving into managed care in the same town as the dialysis. The home will get her to and from dialysis on week days, one of us will need to go get her and take her on Saturdays. We will ask to see if we can move dialysis to m-w-f so the home can take care of getting her there and back. There is a waiting list for m-w-f as well as afternoon time slots at the dialysis center, so for now, its early mornings and the Tu-Th-Sat schedule.

The place where she is moving into was a quick decision yesterday, get somewhere now, kind of thing. We'll try it out and if she (or we) doesn't like it, we'll look at others. She does have some long term care insurance which will kick in after she's been there six months. If she is still with us six months from now, she won't have to worry about paying for the home. That will help ease her mind as she is one to worry constantly about things.

I better get to work and try to get something accomplished around here. hmm.gif

Good luck Ruby.

I hope you had fun Darlene! At least only your hand is sore from falling down. You'll get used to the rest, right? It sounds silly, but I think the next day soreness after doing something like that is a good kind of sore. It makes me feel like I accomplished something. (Yep, I'm messed up.)

That sounds like a good thing for her Web. Maybe with some research you might be able to find a place that can do the dialysis. I know a lot of transplant patients have done dialysis at home, so I would figure there's got to be some care facility that will do that. She'll probably enjoy being in a nursing home more too, since she'll be around her peers. Maybe she can make some friends.

I've had a pretty productive morning. Took my car in to get the tires rotated and oil changed. They want to do $350 more work on my car, but I said no. It seems pretty steep for the type of stuff they want to do (new brake pads on front and a new belt). I'm going to call my stepdad tonight (he's a mechanic) and ask his opinion.

I've learned a lot about dialysis with this deal.

Yes, dialysis at home is now possible, but it requires a lot of prep. They have to install a bladder of some sort in your belly to be able to do dialysis at home. After that is put in, then it is a six month wait before it can be used. We considered that option when this started, but now, we don't think she would survive the operation and maybe not even the six month wait.

We asked why our own hospital can't do the dialysis here. They said that to be able to do it, a VERY expensive water purification process is required. Small, rural hospitals like ours simply can not afford/justify the cost. The dialysis center 65 miles away is the closest to us. The place where she goes, thats all they do. People come from all over the central part of the state to this one center.

I didn't realize it was so involved.

I didn't know the bulb operation was so intensive. And since that's a dialysis center, then it probably is less likely that a care facility would do it with a center right there. But, it's possible there's a place that would take her on Saturdays too.

Yes, another of the homes said they would do the run on Saturdays. This all came about quickly yesterday.

She had a checkup with her cancer dr. The doctor's orders were to get her into managed care today and not wait any longer. I've been saying for the last few weeks that she needed to be in a place with nursing care, but I'm just an outlaw on this side of the family. The place where she is going could take her today even with the understanding it might be temporary while we decide where the long term place will be.

The final decision of where she will go will likely depend on either their ability to take her to dialysis on Saturdays, or getting her on a dialysis schedule of m-w-f.

I've been listening, just busy. Taking a break to eat. Sorry to hear of everyones' troubles!
Glad RD went well Darlene!

Well I think my sister is finalizing plans to take my Mom out for breakfast on Sunday. She was trying to convince me to not bring my hubby! I don't think so! Just because her boyfriend refuses to go doesn't mean mine gets out of it.

Hey Ruby,

I'm so sorry to hear that things are not going well. At least you can look back over the last six months and say you tried. I've never known what all the issues were that made the marriage fall apart so I'm not here to advise you one way or the other. I'm just here as your friend and support. Keep praying for guidance. God will lead if you let him. Look at it this way. You're at least in a better position now than you were at Christmas. You're the one in the house! God Bless you and yours...
