today is the big day, but it is pouring down rain!  and i'm guessing that with the way the ground around here holds water the capsule leaked and there will be 50 years worth of rust on that car!

darn it!  it won't be unveiled until this evening!  "protective cosmoline"  sounds very "JETSON'S"

Tulsa - The 1957 Plymouth Belvedere thousands have waited to see for fifty years is now out of the ground. Now comes the preparations to unveil her tonight.

But, what condition will the 50-year-old vehicle be in. Did the water that seeped into the vault corrode the car or did the cosmoline and protective wrapping keep her in good condition?

When she was pulled out of the vault this morning, the car looked 100-percent intact. And, despite the car's external appearance, we're told the brown color you saw may have been from the protective cosmoline, a rust-preventative that's similar to petroleum jelly.

The official unveiling will be at the Tulsa Convention Center Friday evening at 6 p.m.
