Long time no see...

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to pop in and say hi.  I can't believe it's been so long since I've been on here.  It's been a crazy year.  I was really happy to see that JR hadn't deleted my profile.  Thank you for that, Jeremy.

My job ended with the company that I worked for for seven years.  It was a very bitter ending.  They forced my dad to retire in January and I basically took over his job without the adjusted pay, of course.  My dad wouldn't allow me to quit, so I was stuck there with all these people that I found out were backstabbers.  It was horrible.  They moved the company south at the beginning of this year  and I was so happy to get out of there.  I've landed a fantastic job at a company that treats its employees the way companies should, like they are worth something.  It is a dream job and I'm lucky to be there.

The family is doing fine.  My husband's job still plays havoc with our lives and I'm not too happy about that.  I'm not allowed to listen to the radio on the internet at work and I'm not allowed to go on the internet at work except for business.  Sometimes the only thing that changes is location.  Ha ha.

Hope you all are doing well.  I'll try and stop by more than once a year.  Take care everyone!smile

Hey Trish- how great to see you. I had emailed you and not heard back and was worried. Glad you thought of us- we miss you! I am gonna be in Chicago in Sept for my high school reunion. Some of us are trying to meet up if you are interested. It is the end of the month and we are thinking of Chicago I think.

Hey stranger! Good to hear from you. I'm glad you've finally got a job you like. (Now if only we could do something about that annoying no music while you work rule...)

I got your e-mail Ruby.  That was a bad week.  They had set my last day of work at Mar. 12th (my b-day, no less), but I was feeling something else was going down.  You know how you just get that vibe?  They came in my office on the 8th of Feb. and walked me out the door.  No notice, nothing.  I went to the HR guy and let them know exactly how foul I though they were.  The men in the office got to stay until their set last day even though they had no work to do.  I had work to do and they let me go.  They also screwed me royally.  They changed my title in December and took the word manager out of it.  They told me it was no big deal, just a title change.  I found out when I was laid off that they did that so they would only have to pay me two weeks severance as opposed to three months.  It was stuff like that all the time.  ANYWAY...I'm happy now and so glad I'm not there.

I won't be able to make it to Chicago.  That's about four hours away from here, so it's close enough, but I just started my new job and we are on tight deadlines.  I'm taking off a few days in June to go to Kansas City, but that will be it for awhile.  They give you four weeks paid vacation right from the start, but our product launch is coming up and I have to help write the books to get it out the door.  I wish I could go.  I was just talking to my cousin about how I would like to go to Chicago.  biggrin

I wish the music thing would change.  I would love to listen to internet radio, but that's not allowed.  I bought a really good MP3 player and listen to that.  I have a huge collection of CDs, so it's not that big of a deal, but I still miss FFR.

Hey Trish!

OF COURSE I didn't delete your profile!  You'll always have a home here biggrin.gif

I'm really glad we're atleast still in your memory.  I hope you can stop by a little more often.

Sorry to hear about the bad ending to your last job, but it looks like it led to something much better for you.  clap.gif

Take care!
