Morning all- 10:20 only but already planted seven new plants this morning and enjoyed my fourth Sunday on a row at our new church- with my whole family. The boy starts basketball camp today and it is far away, so E, her daddy and I are gonna waste our time at the mall, seeing Shrek 3 and then Chuck E Cheese-hope to be back later for JD's service.
Today I need to go to the store and buy gifts for the teachers that I work with. I have no idea what to get them. My mom is home so I will go visit her after that.
I think for the sake of my mental health I'm taking a two week breather from watching, reading about or listening to the Milwaukee Brewers.
I'm convinced now this team is just setting us up to break our hearts again Good teams go in slumps all the time, but this has gotten out of control. We're in the midst of a six week slump with no relief in sight as our schedule only gets tougher the next week or two.
Last night was the absolute low point. Up 3 - 0 with two outs in the ninth against the worst team in the American League and we lose 4 - 3. I can't take it. I'm a Brewer addict. I had trouble falling asleep last night thinking about this game and how it could come back to haunt us when we fall a game short of the playoffs in September. I think I care more than most of the players do.
Time for a mental health break.
Then you wake up to THIS lovely news...
Six dead in Delavan shootings
Delavan - A shooting Saturday night left six people dead and one injured, the Delavan police chief said Sunday.
Police responding to a report of shots fired found six people dead at about 10:30 p.m. inside a house in this southern Wisconsin city about 40 miles southwest of Milwaukee, Chief Tim O'Neill said. A child who had been shot in the chest was found in a car outside the house, he said.
The child, a 2-year-old girl, was taken by Delavan Rescue Squad to Rockford, Ill., Memorial Hospital where she was in critical condition, police and hospital officials said.
She then was transferred by helicopter to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. Her condition there was not immediately available.
Police have planned a press conference for 11 a.m. at the scene of the shootings on S. 2nd Street.
