I'm Catholic too.... hmm.gif There are so many things that I've been taught to believe that just don't make any sense. And I don't like that Catholics hate homosexuals! They are people too!

Your Results:

The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.

Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking.

How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards.

This was surprising:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (97%)
3. New Age (91%)
4. Secular Humanism (86%)
5. Theravada Buddhism (85%)
6. Mahayana Buddhism (79%)
7. Liberal Quakers (75%)
8. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (64%)
9. New Thought (63%)
10. Scientology (61%)
11. Nontheist (58%)
12. Taoism (56%)
13. Reform Judaism (53%)
14. Hinduism (49%)
15. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (47%)
16. Sikhism (45%)
17. Jainism (43%)
18. Orthodox Quaker (43%)
19. Bahá'í Faith (31%)
20. Orthodox Judaism (24%)
21. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (20%)
22. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (17%)
23. Seventh Day Adventist (16%)
24. Islam (15%)
25. Eastern Orthodox (11%)
26. Roman Catholic (11%)
27. Jehovah's Witness (9%)

So I clicked the link for Unitarian Universalism, and under every category it says, "Diverse beliefs."  Well, I guess it's nice to know there's a lot of people out there who are just as undecided as I am.

I was surprised that Taoism was so far down on the list.  I consider myself to be a cross between Buddhist and Taoist.  I'm also surprised that Neo Pagan was so high on the list, because reading it really doesn't describe my beliefs at all.

LOL Firefly- ME TOO! My husband about flipped!

Darlene I left the Catholic church for a variety of reasons- wanted a married preacher that had kids, so they knew what they were talking about when they counsel you! And they are too strict and literal on a lot of things. I have been going to an Episcopal church until a month ago- now we are at a Methodist church. Same fundamental beliefs, but not so strict!

REAL Catholics don't hate Homosexuals Darlene.  REAL Catholics don't hate anybody.  It's the extreme right that hides behind religion as an excuse for their hatred.

I believe true Catholics merely believe homosexual instincts are something that should not be acted upon.  But you should have love and compassion for all people, even the deranged serial killer who murders two dozen people.  He's still one of God's children who has horribly lost his way, and you pray for his soul.

Thats one of the things that saddens me about my religion.  If you say you're a Catholic everyone who's not one immediately thinks that you hate so many different groups of people.  Or they immediately make a joke about preists and little boys.

The thing I work hardest at is finding some compassion in myself for everyone.  I fail at it a LOT.  But it's like that thread we had with Paris Hilton saying she was going to clean up her act.  I want to believe she will.  I honestly hope that she can turn her life around and make it about more than just drinking and partying.

Hmm  Many of my ancestors were Crypto-Jews those who fled the Inquisition in Spain and settled in New Mexico

I like Challah and Rugelach.  Oh, and of course Bagels & Lox.  biggrin

I have a son named Jacob and another named Isaac

I used to work in a bakery for a really cool Jewish woman and one day we were talking about buying baking sheets from this other baker in town who was going out of business.  I told her, Maybe you can Jew him down  She just stared at me for a few seconds (which seemed like an eternity after Id realized what came out of my mouth ashamed), pondering  Vee!  Jew, is NOT a verb!  And after the color came back to my face and a smile to hers, we both cracked up laughing

Anyway, I dont participate in any form of organized religion, but I was brought up Catholic  (likely because the whole Crypto-Jew conversion).
