Ticket sales less than anticipated; singer apologizes on Web site
NEW YORK - Singer Kelly Clarkson is calling off her concert tour.
Her publicist has put out a statement quoting promoter Michael Rapino as saying, Ticket sales have not been what we anticipated. The statement says the Clarkson team is re-evaluating the size and scope of her show.
Clarkson is apologizing to fans on her Web site. She says, The fact is that touring is just too much too soon. The former American Idol promises to tour as soon as she can.
I've really liked the new song when I've seen it performed live. Being able to see her belt it out with that angered look on her face makes it more intense I think.
When I just hear the song on the radio it doesn't do much for me.
I've read a lot of online chatter about it and her fans aren't thrilled with the direction she took on the new CD, which apparantly is going to be very negative throughout.
She's not been able to transfer the album sales to concert tickets.....only Daughtry has been able so far of all the Idol folks.....I think Carrie Underwood (when she goes out on a solo tour) will also be able to match it...but most of the others are playing smaller clubs, not arenas!
