Happy Saturday friends! My parents just picked up my daughter for a day trip to the mountains and then she is spending the night with them. I have the WHOLE day to myself! What to do? I know that I am going to see "1408" tonight. Now, I may be going at it alone or I could have a group of friends going. Who knows? smile

My backup service provider seems to be running slow this today. It looks like moving files is going to take longer than usual.

We're kind of a lazy bunch here today. The boy woke up with bad dreams and needed mom last night. When I got up, he was asleep in the chair and she's still crashed on the couch. The boy just now woke up and got the cartoons started. Even the dog is spread out on the floor and not moving.

The boy and I have haircuts in about two hours.

Yeah, me too.

I remember calling them "bad thoughts". My family used to make fun of me for waking up with "bad thoughts". They still bring it up as a joke from time to time when we're talking about the good old days. Because of that, I now try my best to take my son seriously when he's having trouble sleeping.

It's just flat out scary as a kid because you have absolutely no control over it. You feel like there's nothing you can do, and even Mom & Dad can't really help.

I remember being afraid to go to sleep a couple nights

My scary dreams were always the same too. Either a scary clown or being chased by a lion.

I had nightmares about being chased by a bear. I also had a lot of dreams about falling.

Oh yeah! Falling dreams are the worst. Then you wake up and you jump because you're trying to stop yourself.

Then some buttheads in school told me if you ever have a dream that your falling and you hit the ground you did in your sleep

Like they would know!

It's funny you mention that JR, because when I worked at the hospital, a couple of doctors and I got to talking about falling dreams. Actually, what physically happens, is that your muscles become so relaxed that your body thinks that they are dying and it jolts them back. This causes the jerking sensation and the sensation that you are falling.

The one I remember the most came from "The Six Million Dollar Man" TV show. There were a couple continued eposides where there were androids involved. I remember they would get their faces knocked off and then all you could see is all the wires, circuits and blinking lights. For some reason that really freaked me out as a kid. I just knew that these robots were going to come to our house, break in and get me.

aawww..Web that is horrible. My daughter has been scared that Swiper the Fox from Dora the Explorer is going to jump out and get her.

I'm happy to say that to this day I couldn't pick Dora out of a lineup of cartoon characters. I've never watched even a few seconds of her show.

One of the benefits of having no kids I suppose. I also get to avoid Barney and the Teletubbies

I never actually watched Barney, but he was a GREAT babysitter while I cleaned house! Anna would watch it for as long as I would let her. NO TELETUBBIES!
