I just bought some tonight and was excited to see it's older and a little stale.

I much prefer it that way, as opposed to fresh stuff.  I'm wondering if I'm a weirdo? weirdface.gif

I don't like licorice normally but that was until I tried the lemon/lime variety here!  Like red licorice but citrus flavoured!  Mmmmmm!!!  But it has to be soft and chewy!

occasionally hard is desirable, some times you want that soft more intense flavor...


But not being able to have sugar, I don't get a lot of options for licorice...

I don't eat much licorice, but I totally prefer the fresh chewy kind!
know what's awesome- buy these- licorice vines! you are supposed to peel and eat, but don't peel em! just bite in!!

I'm chewin' on the vine RIGHT NOW!  Different brand though, and I do peel em.  The one's I buy actually have seven strips you can peel, and then you're left with a licorice straw you can drink your soda or juice with.

Oh I like both! You need an option for both to get a fair vote! I love Red Vines too, JD, and I love Cherry Nibs! But there's something to be said for good ol' stale strawberry licorice...don't know why, I just love it! Sometimes I'll leave a bag open until it's stale enugh for my taste (I do the same thing with Circus Peanuts and Peeps).

I think stale licorice reminds me of those licorice ribbons you could buy for like 10 cents back in the day.

I like black licorice, which I can't find anymore except in Good N Plenty's, and since that's always hard inside, I guess I like it stale too.  I've never been a fan of the strawberry stuff.  The chocolate sounds good though.....I'll have to see if I can find some here.

yeah I can still get it. I have seen it sometimes in my Rite Aid store and when we got up north we stop at a gas station in Cadillac on the corner of 10 and 115 that has a lot of candy there. They often have it too. I will have to pay more attention and let ya know!
