I just got a strange call. It was a guy asking if we can perforate some paper for them. I don't know. So I told him I wasn't sure, but I could take his number, check it out, and call him back. He asked to talk to someone who knew, but I'm the only one in the office right now. He asked when they would be in, and I said any minute now. I asked if I could take his number and have them call him back. He said he didn't want 50 people calling his cell phone. I assured him it would only be one simple call back to answer his question, but he refused. So I told him to call back in an hour. He said, "But you said it would just be a few minutes." I explained that I wanted to make sure I had all the information he needed when he called back, so since he was calling me and not I calling him, it would be safer to call back in an hour.

What a jerk. I hope I don't have to talk to him when he calls back. Even if we do perf his paper for him, I don't know how we're going to do it without calling him back.

Don't you just "love" people like that Mz? I had one of those too not long ago. A lady called and wanted a quote to build a cabinet to fit a spot in her kitchen. I told her I'd have to work up an estimate and call her back. She said "I'll just call you". I said "But I don't know for sure when I'll get it done, just give me your name and number and I'll call you when I get it figured up." She said "No." I said "You don't want to give me your name?". She said "Does it matter what my name is?" I said "It does not matter to the price of the cabinet, but if I'm going to take my time to do an estimate for you, I would at least like to be able to put a name on it so I know who it is for." She said "I will call you back in five days, you can tell me the price then." And, she hung up.

She did call back a few days later and asked what the price was. I said "I haven't gotten to that yet, but if you give me your name and number, I'll get it worked up and call you back." She slammed the phone down.

I knew that if she wouldn't even give me a name, she was not at all serious about having the work done, she was just needing an insurance estimate or just wanted to keep someone else honest to make sure they were not ripping her off.

I suppose she thought I'd be calling her every day after that trying to sell her on something.

There are some really paranoid people in this world.
