well she is probably gonna get fired! Let me first say that yes we used to be good friends when I was her manager but I had to write her up as well. So I am not blinded by the friendship. Anyways...
We have a new drug policy that we put in place not too long ago that requires you to get a drug test if you are in a van accident or are injured on the job and you want or need to seek treatment.
Well yesterday she was having a bad day. I will spare you the details but after getting mad she suddenly hurt herself while pushing in a chair! She is claiming that she heard something and whipped her head around to look and sprained her neck and demanded to see the doctor! Stupid girl. She has had court problems in the past for pot usage so this is very stupid. Well once she found out she had to get the test she tried to get out of it. She thought that you only needed the test for a van accident. Well it also states that if something comes up that you suspect drug usage that you can submit the person to a drug test. (i forget the exact wording) so they then had to tell her that she was now giving them suspicion because she was trying to get out of it. She kept claiming that she didn't want everyone to know what she takes medically. Even after explained that they don't get that part of the report. There was a 2hr delay at the clinic last night so she said that she couldn't wait because she has a 2nd job. So HR told her to go this am. I am sure she did her best to flush her system. But from what I hear, I think she is pulling something else. Now if she hadn't been so stupid in the first place just trying to get out of work (which is now getting her to work harder) she wouldn't have all this to worry about! She was suposed to have quit this stuff like 4 yrs ago when she got into all the court/driver's license trouble! So I guess we will see. Sorry for blabbing on, I just think this is so stupid! But this will be the first time we actually get to see the drug test work. All the people that had to go before have been goody two shoes that you would have a heart attack if they failed the test!

That reminds me of a guy that started at a company I used to work for. Like most places, you have to take a drug test when you start. Apparently he had a friend call in for him and say they were from the clinic and the drug test came back okay. But then, halfway through his first day, the clinic actually called and he hadn't passed it!
Ruh-roh. And she needs to keep away from those poppy-seed muffins!

In my senior year of high school, they decided to start random drug testing. A lot of kids were opposed to it (myself included). I threatened to start eating lemon poppy seed muffins or poppyseed bagels every day...
i would be opposed to that too for school unless you were on a team. Unfortunately in our field we get a lot of staff that are questionable or for a fact I know do drugs. As a company we a liable because we take care of people. When we talked about it in the past I was opposed to it because I said that we would not have hardly anyone left that was employed! But we also have a lot of crappy injury reports that we know are fake. This helps with those as well.

Yeah, I always tense up for drug tests too. I had a friend whose test got mixed up with someone else's that came back with a whole bunch of painkillers. She had to do it again, and it came out fine, but she was so scared.
i say bring it on, the drug test that is!! I work for PD and i signed something once when I got hired that they could make me do a random drug test.. and 11 years later, I have still never had one.
I always found the wiz quiz and the blood draw to be more of an annoyance than anything. I understand its importance though, I just get a "shy bladder" when it comes time, even if I drink a bunch of water beforehand.

my aunt has the same shy bladder problem....she drank so much before that they accused her of trying to flush her system...
Hahaha! I never had anyone say that to me, although I could see why they would be suspicious. I'm not good with needles either, so I'm not keen on the whole fiasco.

remember that she had overnight to prepare for the drug test.
Her story is that when she came out they claimed that her sample had been tampered with and that it wasn't the right temperature and had to do it again.
She did it again and she said the said it wasn't the right temperature again but she didn't do it again.
Our boss called and spoke to the clinic and all they said was that there wasn't enough of a sample the first time. The had her do her appointment and then try again. There were no problems.
The test results came back negative.
So we think she flushed her system and threw out those excuses in case it came back positive. Otherwise why would she had said those things?
We are expecting her to run her mouth about what she did to pass it. So they have decided that if they suspect someone of using at those times that they will cover that staff's spot and personally drive them. We are learning as we go. It's a new policy.
