Good day all. No tunes, and I've already had to leave here once because Brian forgot his work keys. Yep, it's a Monday.

Yeah, I have an old shoulder injury that it does this every once in a while. I can always tell when it's out because my collar bone pops out too and crunches.

Ouch, Spark, that doesn't sound good at all. no.gif

I'm kinda slow today. It was about 11:30pm when I got the dog home last night and she stunk bad. The weekend crew must not have been investing much of their time into letting the dogs out because she smelled like she had been laying in her own pee. So, at 11:45 last night, I started giving the dog a bath.

She was SOOO thirsty when I got her home too. She drank and drank and drank. I'm not very happy with the care (or lack of) she received over the weekend.

My wife scheduled today as a day off for her. She'll be at home doing all the weekend stuff that couldn't be done while we were gone.

Happy Monday.

hello all smile

this morning, I'd like to simply share some great quotes on TRUTH.

Abraham Lincoln:

Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.

Blaise Pascal:

We know the truth, not only by the reason, but also by the heart.

Buddha:

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.

Dorothy Thompson:

There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the causes of happenings.

Galileo:

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.

George Eliot:

[I]t is very hard to say the exact truth, even about your own immediate feelings much harder than to say something fine about them which is not the exact truth.

George Orwell:

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.

I like the question I heard from Josh Mcdowell ask in one of his presentations:

Is real truth to be discovered or created?

ooh! great question to ponder!

I feel that nothing is more powerful than the truth. Its pure, and no lie can hold up to the truth. So I believe truth is something that simply needs to be uncovered.smile

Its really weird outside here right now.

We got a little rain overnight and it is still cloudy and damp. There is not a hint of a breeze and it is sooo quiet. I stepped out side for a bit and I can hear animals, dogs, vehicles, etc from a long way off. Its almost a little spooky how quiet it is.

Be careful, you might be in a horror movie.

I have a few to add to the Truth section:

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." - Winston Churchill

"The truth is not for all men, but only those who seek it."- Ayn Rand

"We know the truth, not only by reason, but also by the heart." - Blaise Pascal

and a couple from Albert Einstein:

"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods."

"Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters."

This is an interesting topic JD. While a "truth" can be revealed, I would question whether the truth - the absolute and comprehensive fact - can exist in the human mind. Our ability to identify and define truth is limited by our own capacity and means to learn all aspects and is filtered by our perceptions. As such, the truth perceived by one may not be the same as perceived by another, and yet neither can necessarily be qualified as truth. It's like the story of the four sides of the elephant...

I don't know yet, Darlene. I just talked to one of the guys that helped with it and he said they think the got the recording but don't know how it sounds. It was recorded to our pastor's personal laptop. He has Mondays off so I didn't want to bother him today. Tomorrow, I will take my thumb drive and go get the recording file and see how it turned out.

The guy I talked to is also our praise team leader. He did say that he really noticed my absence since I wasn't there playing bass. At least someone there missed me. smile.gif
