TIGF- the 3rd of August

Morning all. Well I have not slept good all week- too much going through my mind. My breast is not so sore today, I might call to see if I can just wait til Monday to see if I need to come in. The boy has an appointment already that day and today is the end of the summer term. I will have to wait til they open and go from there.

have a great!

Mornin'

Ruby, I hope that is a good sign that all is ok.

I woke up about 45 minutes early with a headache. I got up and took some drugs and they are starting to work a little now.

I was having a weird dream when I woke up . . . I was back in probably 8th or 9th grade and it was an evening football game. The problem was that I had the wrong colored jersey on. The coach kept trying to put me in but I couldn't figure out which team I was supposed to play for. I didn't recognize any of the players on the field and both teams had just enough kids to play that there were none on the sidelines. Even if I did figure out which side to play for, I didn't want to go in and stand out by being the one in the wrong color. I was trying to count players on the field but everyone was running around so fast, I couldn't count. Finally I went to the coach and said "You know what, this is so strange I think its gotta be a dream." The coach looked at me, then looked around at everything else, and said "Hmmmm, I think you are probably right, why don't you go back to bed." So, I did and woke up with the headache.

We are going to see mom-in-law tonight as soon as we all get home from work. We talked to her on the phone the last two days and she doesn't sound good. She is breathing really hard and you can tell by the sound of her voice that she is really weak.

Hmmmm "Sound of your voice" . . . . .38 Special. I like .38 Special.

Good day all.

Ruby, what happens if it starts hurting more over the weekend? Then you'll curse yourself for putting it off until Monday. Go today and get it out of the way, if anything. And does it really hurt less, or are you just getting used to the pain?

I'm jealous Web. Anytime I realize I'm dreaming, I end up waking up. And I've been dreaming a lot of weird dreams lately too. Last night, I was at my parent's house, it was Christmas, and we were getting ready to go over to my grandparent's house for a late Christmas dinner, but it was warm outside and my mom kept riding her bike back and forth from grandma's to home (it's only a couple blocks away). I kept trying to get ready, but I kept forgetting things, like I couldn't leave because I wasn't wearing pants, or I only had one earring on, etc. And I was nervous because we weren't there for Thanksgiving, so we weren't in the name draw, so we didn't have anyone to exchange gifts with, but I knew someone would give us something so we weren't sitting there without anything to open, but I didn't want to get a gift without giving someone one.

Good morning everyone, I woke up to the sound of rain on my roof this moring. That is a good thing, we haven't had much rain all summer. I too had a strange dream, my parents were getting a divorce after being married for 40 years. I kept telling my Dad he was stupid and I wasn't going to listen to him that I have my own house I can go to so I didn't have to hear it. weirdface

My parents get along better than most people I know so I'm not sure where that one came from!

Ruby, I love you but you are now officially worse than my husband because he went to the doctor first!

He got his usual breathing treatment and steroid shot. Got scripts for a steroid pack and an antibiotic. However something kept him wide awake so he got very little sleep.

I had a weird dream too but I don't remember much. But my mother in law was talking to me about root canals and such. She said that she was glad that women can always tell that they need a root canal because the tooth will grow sideways and start digging in their cheek. Ok that makes no sense and she wears dentures! weirdface

friday -- YAY!
all this not sleeping well and strange dreams(myself included) must have something to do with the moons gravitational pull on the earth biggrin and since we're all sharing our weird dreams...

i was driving to the post office and i was killed by a roadside bomb cry.  the obituary came out with a typo stating that i was killed by an IUD instead of an IED weirdface

Morning all !  My dad's knee surgery went without a hitch the other day but it was a long day of sitting around the hospital and waiting.  I spent most of yesterday at his house just to make sure he was doing ok.  I have to go back this morning to change the dressing and help him out with a few things.  Then I have to come home and help my youngest daughter pack......she's going away tomorrow to band camp for two weeks with her school's marching band to learn the drill formations and music for the upcoming competitions when school resumes.  Busy day ahead for me!

Hope all of you have a good day!!!smile

this is the first year for oklahoma.  the way it works here is it applies only to purchases of clothes and shoes under $100, so i guess if i go somewhere and have more than that, i'll have to get in line twice to get the break (?).

I think we're at a 5.6% sales tax, DS.

much of the  state os 5.5%, but the counties around Miller Park and Lambeau Field get charged .01% more for maintenance fees for these facilities.

Our state tax is 5.5% and 1% city for 6.5% total.

No tax on food.

Our property and auto taxes are high to make up for the lower sales taxes.

We don't have tax on groceries, but prepared food (like fast food and stuff from restaurants) gets taxed. Our tax is 6%, but our property taxes are pretty high too.

So then how do food stamps work?  Do those people still have to pay the sales tax?

i think on food stamps there is no tax calculated same for WIC vouchers.
i suppose if the state decided to end the tax on food, they'd make it up somewhere else because you know they're not gonna turn loose of anything...
