MySpace or YouTube?

It seems like the latest big developments on the internet involve social networking sites like Myspace, and footage on demand sites like YouTube.

I really enjoy both. Right now am totally addicted to Youtube. And yet really enjoy most of the people I meet from around the world on Myspace.

How about you? If you had to chose one or the other, which would you chose?
Anything to watch or anyone to become a myspace friend with?

Hm, that's a hard decision. They have two different purposes, so it's hard to choose. I'll have to think on that for a while.

I like MySpace, I have not really been on You Tube, other than an occasional visit here or there.

I picked Youtube because of it ability to showcase talent and allow us to watch some older shows. Emily and I like to watch videos at night.

I don't do myspace, but no real reason. I have nothing against it. But it does have a bad reputation. I think it is a great way to keep up with family and friends that are apart.

I like Myspace because of the social aspect of it.  I use it to keep in touch with people.  I like posting comments on my friends pages and enjoy receiving the comments they send me.  I also like the fact you can add things to your page to personalize it any way you choose.

Since I'm more into music than videos, I like Project Playlist better than YouTube.  I can search for music I want and add it to my playlists, then add whatever playlists I want to my page on Myspace.  I spend a lot of time on that web site.  smile

I very rarely go to You Tube, but I visit My Space daily.

I love them both, but I really spend more time on Mspace staying in touch with people.

I like the YouTube site more than the MySpace site, but I rarely visit it.

Eventually I think a site like YouTube will have a major impact on television and movies, as computers become more integrated with televisions and bandwidth issues get solved.

It's cool that anyone can create a show and have it watched by a world-wide audience, just like it's cool that we can run a radio station without spending millions of dollars to do it.

I really enjoyed the CHAD VADER: Day Manager series on YouTube, and could totally see myself tuning in once a week to watch the newest episode.

Maybe the best thing as it progresses is that corporate BS will not be involved and a show can run as long as the creative people behind it want it to.

I'm a little surprised by this poll going the way of MySpace. (Considering the ages of all of us on this board.)

MySpace still seems very 14-year-old-girl to me. Unfortunately, I did have to sign up because a lot of bands use those sites more than regular sites they have to pay for. And I need to get into the bands' pictures and such.

If I want to keep up with friends, I will call or e-mail them. I don't usually have one basic thing that I want to talk to everyone in my life about. Or that everyone in my circle would care to hear. Besides, that's what you guys are for! biggrin.gif

Now, YouTube? Awesome! Like JD said - "it's on there". Hanson just did a Tom Green online show the other day. So I looked. All 90 freaking minutes of it? Yup - on YouTube.
