Maybe because we place so much importance on atheletes, ie. we pay them more than doctors, lawyers and teachers... then I feel they should be held to a higher standard. But they are just playing a sport, so I disagree about their pay scale and that they are actually worth it!

But I do not think he should be allowed to come back. They need to draw a line somewhere and I can't see this offense being on the right side of the line!furious

What he did was wrong, immoral, and illegal, and I do not condone it or anything similar in any way. But, whether or not he should be allowed back to me depends on his job description.

If his job description is to play ball, then I'd say what he did does not affect his ability to do his job.

But, if his job description includes anything about being a role model or moral integrity, then I'd say no.

I don't know what the NFL's code of conduct rules are, so that factors in a lot on my opinion.

I'd love to say, sure, let him back him, what coach would want him on their team. But sadly, I'm sure the reply is that many would.

As much as I'd like to see him never play again, I agree with MZ.

He needs to serve his sentence (which I hope is as long as possible) but once he's served his punishment I guess there's no reason he should be banned from the NFL.

But I personally hope he is, regardless of it's right or wrong. I guess it's just that if I were the commishioner of the NFL I'd feel I had to accept him back once he served out his punishment.
