Sweet Sunday

Morning all- Got the "Have to's" done yesterday, I finally dug up all of my flowers for the season. Some of my zinnias were five feet tall!! I swear, SOME of their stalks looked like small sunflowers, with 5-7 offshoots each on them. They provided me fresh flowers on my desk at work all summer. I will definitely reseed them next spring!!

Then... I went around the house with the electric hedgeclippers and trimmed up everything. I AM WOMAN HERE ME ROAR!! I love powertools, makes me feel invincible.

Of course, after all that, I pretty much fizzled on the couch the rest of the day. Beverly Hills Cop was showing on Comedy Central, then watched Blazing Saddles on CMT.

good mornin.smile

I got to get ready to go to the Brewers game today. They are handing out Milwaukee Braves nesting dolls, and I want to get a set for my grandma- she loves baseball and loved going to Braves games. The nesting dolls are Eddie Mathews, Warren Spahn and Hank Aaron.

grill out at my buddy Mots after the game.

I spent almost two hours straightening E's room! She had stuff strewn everywhere throughout the house too! And the laundry! UGH!

Might go to the aquarium now, need to see when they close. It has rained all weekend~

HEY HEY HANK AARON WAS AT THE BREWERS GAME TODAY TO THANK US ALL FOR OUR SUPPORT OF THE 1957 MILWAUKEE BRAVES AND THEIR WORLD SERIES WIN. NO ONE I SAW THERE LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE SUPPORTED THIS WIN THO....hmm

AND EVEN IF "WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU, THE FANS, OF THE GAME IN THIS TOWN WE CALL MILWAUKEE, OF THE SPORT WE CALL BASEBALL, WHICH IS SPELLED B.A.S.E.B.A.L.L.",....

IT WAS STILL KICK ASS TO SEE HANK AARON SAY ANTHING AT ALL....smile

Well, technically it's 6 minutes into Monday, but I don't care. The racing was pretty good, but most drivers didn't beat their times from Friday and Saturday nights. But, they've got their cars tuned pretty well, so the actual race tomorrow should rock.

We're 2 hours late getting home. After the drag strip, we went to eat with family like we do every year, hung out for a bit, then hopped into the car to come home. We figured we'd get home about 9:30. But the car didn't start. Luckily, my stepdad's a mechanic, so I pop the hood, and before I even turn the key so he can listen to what the car is doing, he'd already figured out the problem. My car is 8 years old and still had the original battery. So then we had to find someplace that was open that had a battery, so we went to WalMart. But there was noone in the auto section to take our old battery to waive the cell charge. So we buy the battery anyway, go back, and my stepdad puts it in the car, and it starts. So now we're carrying around a battery that we hope we can take back to WalMart tomorrow to turn in to get our $9 back.

Hopefully, tomorrow will go smoother. I'm still excited for another day of racing. Well, I have to get up in 7 hours, so I'm going to bed.

oh man Mz, how I have shed tears of weepy joy when the problem has only been "just need a new battery". not that its fun, convenient, inexpensive or anything, but that, without a doubt, has always been the easiest fix to any major car problem I have had. heck. its easier than needing a new tire changed even....

Yeah, I was so happy it was only the battery. It wasn't as easy of a switch out as it should have been, since one of the connectors was so corroded the bolt broke, but at least it's fixed. And I really did get lucky, even though we were out of town, my stepdad was there and easily fixed it.
