I did not see it, but the article I read mentioned her tight stomach being gone. I would have liked to have seen her outfit. WHO CARES about her belly? She has two kids! And it is not about her looks, but her singing and dancing! But from the sounds of the out of sync lip syncing, it sounds like her talent is missing too!

I did see her performance but was afraid to post since everyone is tired of her. I felt bad for her. She looked like someone trying to be Britney. Whether you liked her or not, the girl used to be able to dance. It's so sad when younger stars fall like this. I know she made her choices but it is still sad.

As far as her apperance my husband said that she looked darn good for having 2 kids.

Yeah, I know. I wasn't sure about posting either because I know people like to rip her apart.

I just hate seeing someone that young get as messed up as she seems to be. I'm afraid she has no ability to live without stardom, and the last year or so has kind of shown that.

I really enjoyed her early stuff. No, it wasn't great music, but music is for everyone, and she filled a niche. It was bubble-gum dance-pop and she did it pretty darn well. She was an exciting performer too.

Part of me was happy to see her fall, because she seemed like a real snob, but a bigger part of me feels bad for her and hopes she eventually finds her way back to some level of respectability in the music industry.

Right now she just seems like a train wreck.

I think Britney needs to let stardom take a backseat and get her stuff together before trying to be out there again. Right now she's an emotional mess, and it's screwing up her career. If her agent keeps letting her spread her negative image, she needs a new agent.

I didn't see her last night. But when they mentioned it on the radio, I got the impression that it wasn't that she's gained weight, but that the outfit she was wearing wasn't really appropriate for her any more. I'll have to see if I can find a You Tube video of it later when I have more time.

People on the radio just now while I was driving around were making the point that it's not that she's too heavy, but rather that if you're going to parade around in a skimpy bra & Panties (which is BASICALLY what she had on, call em' what you will) in front of a national audience you might not want to be carrying an extra 20 lbs.

I gotta admit, I was one of the ones who thought she had a shot at being the next Madonna. Heck, even Madonna thought Brit might be the next Madonna.

Although I never suspected she'd have the market savy Madonna had. The length of her run was astounding. She just managed to remain relevant waaaaay longer than it made sense.

Oh man, I feel sorry for her. She looked uncomfortable and not "into" it. And the wig was pretty bad. Basically, she looked like what I would look like if I got up there and did that, but she's supposed to be a professional. I think it was too soon; she obviously isn't comfortable with herself right now.

Here's a good comparison:

Even I'll admit, she had the moves. That old stuff is, well, sexy. Now that that ship has sailed, I see the attraction.

I saw it.

I cringed.

She was not so far out of shape but she needs to give up the very revealing outfits.

She was almost like Ashlee Simpson on SNL when she forgot the lyrics and was caught lyp synching.

Yeah, it was really too bad. She's still got the moves in her - you can see she still has skill even if a bit out of shape and completely not into the performance. She just seemed to give up after a couple mistakes in the lip sync. Her heart was not in it.

Though she's not as svelt as we've seen her, I am disappointed at the amount of media criticism about her physique. The outfit was not flattering for her figure but COME ON...SHE HAD 2 KIDS! Give the girl a break! She looks pretty good considering motherhood and the personal hell she's been through. The misfortune is that, with her half-hearted and mediocre performance, her skills didn't have a chance to outweigh her physique. She's got skills, I'll admit, even if she doesn't appeal to me much as a musician.

I question whether she really wants this life anymore and she's just going through the motions. She's had to mind her appearance for years, since she was a mousketeer. She's lived the life in the spotlight for so long. I question whether she knows what she wants, really.

I've said this before, I think she needs to take a break, then change her image. She's still trying to do the same thing she used to, and it's not working. And I think G-Gal is right, she's just not into it any more. She needs to find out what she wants to be when she grows up.

Yes, she looked unprepared, and like she was just going through the motions. Terrible performance.

As for her body-- quite honestly, anyone who has pumped out 2 kids would KILL to look that good! Actually even someone who hasn't had kids would! But because:
1) Her body has been so very fabulous in the past
2) Hollywood judges waaay too harshly
3) The outfit wasn't ideal for her - should've had more coverage
she's getting crap for it.

She insisted on wearing that outfit. She needs more honest people around her. She does look great, but there is ways to look sexy and not naked! MTV had a sexy but less revealing outfit picked out.

Yeah I don't like kanye but I agree with the first part he said about MTV exploiting her. I'm not saying that she shouldn't be part to blame but com'on we have seen the decisions she has been making! They knew she would do it!

Now he probably said all that for his own benefit since he thought he should have been the opening act but it was a good point.

I'm torn.

I find it hard to believe that MTV wants to get a reputation among artists as a network that will purposely set you up to look foolish. It wouldn't be a very smart business move.

But on the other side, they got a LOT of exposure from this, both before and after the event.

They had been worried the event was becoming irrelevant and now it'll be a "must see" next year just incase it's the buzz again. No one will wanna be left out around the water cooler.

In the end though I think Britney is gonna do what Britney wants to do. I'm sure she's surrounded by yes-men and women and thinks her crap don't stink.

I have to be honest though, I can't STAND Kanye West, so my view is probably a little tainted by my dislike for him.
