Generally speaking, I'm not a big Forum person. There are a couple of bands whose forums I've joined, and let me tell you, they are nothing like this one!
One is a really busy one with so many members, who are so totally not on the same wavelength in any way, shape or form, it's stupid. And also, there are so may posts that are repetitions of a running thread you were already covering elsewhere, it's annoying. Oh, and the stupid random thoughts that have nothing to do with said band, or music, or really anything - you couldn't possibly keep up with them all, even if you wanted to. (Which I don't.)
And on it and the other 2 band sites I've posted on (which aren't very busy at all) people don't really seem interested in conversing. For example, if someone mentions a a rock club near me, I'll ask what other shows they've been to there or what other bands they like, or whatever, and no one ever gets back to me. It's like I'm talking to no one. I don't get it. And when someone says they'd be interested in others' opinions or input, I will post, then never hear from them again. To me, that's just rude.
So Riggs, lately when I hear you talking about joining the FFR forum on air, and you say how it's really different from others, I see your point!
Done now.

Even moreso, I just find that other forums can be very difficult to break into the "click". The groups have formed and it almost feels like high-school.
I love that when a new member signs up for our forum we all rush to welcome them.
I've joined forums where I've been completely ignored even AFTER I started talking
