Music to put you in the mood!

10) Do Ya Think Im Sexy Rod Stewart (1978)
Until Penny came along, it was Rods constant cry to any leggy blonde that came his way. Now hes a settled man, another leggy blonde has taken to the mic to cover it, but were not sure Paris Hilton quite has the gravely drawl of the hot Rod.

9) Sexual Healing Marvin Gaye (1982)
American soul at its seductive best. Number one on the US charts for 10 weeks, but dont dwell on its origins too much. It was allegedly written as a sexual cure for Marv who was supposed to be addicted to his inordinately large collection of pornography.

8) Nothing Compares 2 U Sinead OConnor (1985)
Sinead took Princes original and made it her own song, topping the charts around the world with this 1990 effort. See if you get closer to one another than OConnor got to the camera in shooting the famed close-up vid.

7) I Cant Stop Loving You Ray Charles (1962)
The only true genius in the business, said Frank Sinatra about Charles. If this one gets you started, you might not be able to stop.

6) When A Man Loves A Woman Percy Sledge (1966)
Squeeze yourself into a tight pair of denims for this one, which re-emerged in 1987 for a Levi jeans ad and shot it up to number two in the charts. Michael Bolton then remade it a perm-anent success with a Grammy award winning cover in 1991.

5) Unchained Melody The Righteous Brothers (1965)
Elvis performed it in his last TV appearance, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore went potty for it in Ghost and then Simon Cowell persuaded Robson and Jerome to murder it for a million-selling single in 1995. Unchained? Many thought they should be locked up for this.

4) Lets Stay Together Al Green (1972)
Al Green is the absolute master of seductive songs and Tina Turner, Michael Bolton and Michelle Williams from Destinys Child have all queued up to cover this classic.
3) With or Without You U2 (1987)
Give your fella the Bono. This song will turn him into putty with its sensual sounds. The bands first American number one, it only reached four in the UK, but could take your lover to the Edge.

2) Every Breath You Take The Police (1983)
Originally written by Sting and performed by The Police, this track topped the UK charts for four weeks in 1983 and was on the US Billboard music charts for eight weeks. It was covered by Puff Daddy in 1991 with his remake, Ill be Missing You.

1) Lets Get It On Marvin Gaye (1973)
This classic Motown single is famous for being a soulful melody for lovers. The single peaked at number two and was on the charts for an impressive 61 weeks.

Hm, I agree with the Marvin Gaye ones. But I still think, "Every Breath You Take," is a stalker song...

Sometimes it has nothing really to do with the lyrics of a song but the music.

He's not kidding about Devo's "Whip It" either!

One time he was in the studio with me when it came on and he started making googly eyes at me!  weirdface.gif I've never run so fast in my entire life!  sprint.gif

Haha JD & Riggs.

And Woo - I'm with you.  Those aren't songs that "do it" for me in that way.

I think the Marvin Gaye has become too cliche.

When I hear it I just get annoyed now. How many movie love scenes have taken place to SEXUAL HEALING or LET'S GET IT ON? A billion maybe?

Now when those songs come on the radio I'm just hit with a barrage of movie titles in my head smile.gif

I never liked "Sexual Healing".  I never saw its great appeal.  It's almost like trying too hard or something - Just don't like it.  I like "Let's Get It On."  In fact, as you may recall, I used it in my Penguin vacation photo essay.

But to get me "in the mood" - naw.

Oh goody - that gives me what?  A 25 to 1 average?  hmm

I agree with Woo.....none of those songs do anything for me either.  I'd have to go look at my cds to come up with some titles.

Funny that "Every Breath You Take" is on this list.  Like Mz, this song reminds me of a creepy stalker.
