Happy Wednesday all !! Have a little time this morning so thought I'd drop in and see what everyone's been up to. My youngest daughter has her first "date" coming up in three weeks. She was asked to her school's Homecoming dance and she's all excited about it. But we're having a problem finding her a dress to wear.....she still wears a girl's size 12, isn't in the Junior sizes yet. The girls at her school rate Homecoming right up there with Prom....so we're trying to find a long formal dress that kind of fits her........I know I'll have to take one into a seamstress for alterations, but boy, are we having a problem. All of the dresses are way too big in the bust area and miles too long on her. So when she gets out of school today, we're heading to a different city to see if we can find something that can be altered and will still look nice. Needless to say, she's becoming upset because she's so small compared to other girls her age....so I'm dealing with a very unhappy 15 yr. old right now. Wish me luck, because we have to find something soon so it will be back in time for the dance.

How much are you willing to spend? I'd say to try David's Bridal if you have one in your area. They do alterations there (though I don't know how much it'll cost), and they do have prom dresses. And they have sizes that other stores don't. And they can order in stuff. It's on the other end of the spectrum, but when I was making a wedding dress for my friend, she needed a corset and petticoat. We tried all the stores in town, and she was about in tears, because none had any large enough to fit her (and she's barely plus size). We went to David's Bridal, and got her exactly what she needed right away.
I've also seem some pretty small prom dresses at Deb in the mall.
I tried a couple of bridal shops here, but they told me the dress wouldn't be back in enough time....they need at least 8 weeks to order a dress, six for alterations. We've hit Deb's a couple of times, so far without any luck, but the manager told me they are expecting another shipment this weekend that's supposed to have some smaller sizes coming. Someone told me of a shop in Midland, about a 1/2 hour drive from me, that specializes in small sizes for teens, so that's where we're heading this afternoon. Hopefully, we'll find a dress today or over the weekend.
good morning, y'all! thought i'd drop by for a bit, also. the work thing is getting in the way of play. some good news for me is that i got a pay raise (YAY). it's not big bucks, but a raise nonetheless. i think i'll put it in my 401k so i don't get it taxed.

I'm off to the food store, I wanna be back before the Weird Newz for a change!
Everyone have a great morning!
Yer a sick man Riggs. I was loving the upper 70's! Top down, cruising.
Yeah, you're right Squonk, I gotta admit it, I'm kinda twisted when it comes to weather. I like it cold. Not sub zero mind you, but 40 - 60 is my happy zone
