It was ok. I was thinking for the first 20 minutes or so I was going to seem some great sort of mythological epic. But ultimately it ended up being about choreographed violence, although the cinematography (sic?) was really quite cool and unique. Sort of like a Mythology for Dummies. I kinda lost respect for the film when they started playing heavy metal for a couple of the fight scenes.

I saw it back in September. I thought it would be a much better film than it is. Granted, it was a war with 300 soldiers against the entire Persian army, yet they focused too heavily on the violence. I thought it was more of a blood and gore fest instead of a great epic film. I was disappointed with it. hmm.gif

I was lucky enough to see the history channel do a piece about that battle, so after watching it and knowing as much as I did I had no inclination to see it.


It sounds like I am not disapointed in not seeing this one....

I saw this one in the theater. All in all, I'd give it a B. The cinematography and visual effects were awesome, and I liked the storyline about the queen. But other than that, yeah, a lot of fighting. I am glad I saw it in the theater for the visual component of it, but I don't think I'll ever see it again.

I agree Mz. This was a good movie, but not one that I would watch again for the story. I have to admit that it wasn't very difficult to watch Gerard Butler thoughwink  I can see why his queen stayed so loyal!!!
