Monday, Monday

Good morning to all....painted the spare bedroom yesterday...also bought a new mattress for the room...my mom is coming to visit next week and figured that a bed would be better than the floor!

Wow, that's nice of you. When my mother-in-law stayed by us (3 weeks plus!) she took over the second floor of our house as an apartment. We gave her the car we care least about for the time she was in town. She owes us big time!
Happy Monday! Mine is off to a crappy start. It's funny how when it's convenient, people will follow the rules. More later if I get the chance.

Aloha. (For some reason, I've decided to start using "aloha" more.)

I took a benadryl before bed last night, so I'm dragging today. Talk to me again after I've finished my coffee.

Good morning all! It's going to be a very busy couple of days. I have a busy night ahead and I have a 2-day diversity summit starting tomorrow. Todya is a visit to the chiropractor and my doctor as well. bleh Ah well, c'est la vie. I made pancakes yesterday for the first time in a long time and had Mrs. Buitterworth's syrup on them...I forgot how much I liked that syrup as a kid! I think it was just because of the cool bottle. Does anyone else remember that as being a novelty of childhood?

Howdy Folks,

My mom always bought us Karo syrup. Thats all I remember using growing up. We had pancakes a lot so she always bought the big glass bottle of syrup.

We're up and running on another Monday. My wife is not happy, she has to work today. All the other banks in town are closed, but hers is open. That is why she was off on Friday . . . they got a floating day off for working today and she was able to use it Friday.

its 41 now with a chance of showers this morning. Still dry so far.

We have decisions to make about my mother-in-law's house. My wife's brother doesn't want it so we have to decide if we want to move there, or just sell it as it is. Its a nicer house than what we have, but its still not really what we both would want to retire in. The problem is that to make it like we would want would take some money to do.

So, we're looking at what it would cost to buy out the brother's 1/2 plus the costs of all the work that we would need to do to it, and comparing that to what else is available in town for the same money. We don't want to make stupid financial decisions just for the sake of keeping the house in the family.

Carry on.

good morning! got up at 4:30 and to my suprise the temp was 68 and balmy weirdface.gif

about pancakes... my mother never made us pancakes. all we ever had was cheerios (plain) or puffed wheat (also plain) hmm.gif

but, being the ultra cool mom that i am, i make my kids french toast and pancakes and they get to choose which cereal they like (but it has to be in a bag). back to Mrs. Butterworth... when maranda was a little, she used to sit and stare at the bottle because she thought it was going to come alive like in the commercial... biggrin.gif

i often wonder what we are going to do when my mother passes on. we will have similar decisions to make. my younger brother and i both live out of state, and my older brother who lives there dosen't seem interested. i hate the idea of "strangers" living in my childhood home, but i wouldn't move from my current home either... follow you heart or follow your head ?
i suppose things will work out as they are meant to.

Yes, it is a strange feeling for my wife . . . it is the only house she ever lived in until she went to college.

Good morning allsmile

I was up all night long with a migraine!furious I am allergic to migraine medications, so I had to take a vicodin to ease the pain. The pain is gone, but now the room is spinninghmm

I am dedicating the remainder of the day to cleaning my house. I have been putting it off and now I have no choice but to clean.

I hope everyone has a great day!smile

I am starting to get mad at someone here at work. I'm told to hold off on a project, and then they want it done right away and say, "Well, we've had it for a month." It's affecting my other work and I can't get anything else done. Now we're back in the, "hold off on it until..." mode. I don't care, I'm going to design the #^$*ing thing, and if they decide to change it, they can pay for my extra time. I'm not going to get stuck with it and make my other clients pay for someone else's impatience.

Good afternoon everyone!  Got home from work about an hour ago, now I'm making some Lasagna and garlic bread for dinner......that really sounded good to me around lunch time today.

Good luck with the house decision Web!  I already know when my dad passes away we'll be selling the house because all of us already have our homes.  Our decision will be what to do with his cottage and the 40 acres it's on.  Right now all the guys hunt on it and I'm sure my brothers will want to keep it, but the taxes are extremely high in the area where it's located, so we'll have a tough decision to make.

As for Mrs. Butterworth's syrup, I love that stuff and still use it on pancakes, waffles, etc.  When we were kids and would go to visit my grandparents, my grandma never used syrup.....she always had molasses.  That was a special treat for us.  smile

Hope all of you had a good day!
