New Rant….Arnold Schwarzenegger should NEVER be president…

I keep seeing all these news programs talking about a run to the White House for the current California Governator. I like the guy, and I think he would be a popular choice for president. He might even do a great job and lead this country to new heights (don’t know if he would, but he might…)

That being said, I NEVER want to see him as president, and the reason is because he is not an American Born Citizen. In order for him to become President, the United States would have to change the law stating that only American Born citizens can become president, and that naturalized citizens are ineligible for the presidency. I think that this is an excellent safeguard for the future of our country, and to change it now would lead to big trouble.

I’m not saying naturalized citizens couldn’t run our country better…in fact I’m sure there are naturalized citizens who could run the country 100 time better than Bush or Kerry…I’m also sure there are people who were born in this country who should never get within 100 miles of Washington DC.

My concern is that changing the law not only allows someone qualified, and with the best intentions for the country, to run, but also those people with an agenda (like the Taliban or Muslim Extremists, but not exclusively) to come in for a few years, like a sleeper agent, and hurt the USA. The 9/11 pilots came into the country, trained on our own equipment, and no one questioned them. There are sleeper agents in other countries who are “activated” sometimes after Many years and neighbors never knew what hit em. Imagine someone with a deep hatred for the USA for 35-40 years, comes to the US under the guise of escaping persecution in another country, becomes a citizen within 5 or 6 years, all the while building a political reputation (hey if Arnold can do it, it’s not that far fetched), and upon becoming a citizen, begins a run for president. Suppose then he wins…and is then “activated” to hurt our country from within, and we never saw it coming… man are we in trouble!

I just feel better knowing my president was born here, grew up here, and has seen the bad & Good of our country for himself from within, and upon running chooses to change it for the better, not annihilate it to change it. There are so many more thing on this I could say but they are all jumbling up in my head...respond if you wish…back to your regularly scheduled 80’s

Mo,

I agree with you 100% on this one.

In fact, it seems like it's a no-brainer, like there should be no debate.

I too like Arnold, and I don't think that there's any reason he COULDN'T do a good job.  But look, the bottom line is there are PLENTY of smart, fully qualified Americans that can run for office, we don't need to start dipping into the pool of smart, fully qualified foreigners for our President.

Do you think you'd ever see an American leader in another country?  Of course not, it's just ludicrous.

I hope this idea dies quickly.

Of course, to suggest the President should be an American man or woman will be seen in many circles as politically incorrect, but WHO CARES!

Most Definately!

I'm very excited for Turkey day to pass so I can start mixing in a little Christmas Music.

Last season we played about a song an hour of xmas music, then bumped it up to a song every half hour the week or two before Christmas, and then on Christmas eve and day we played all christmas music (of course, we only had 2 listeners on Chistmas day).

O.K., not to jump on you, Mo, but I really dislike it when people use X-mas for Christmas.  That is one of my biggest pet peeves.  I just think it takes away the whole reason for the season.  I do agree with the way the holidays are marketed.  I don't put up my tree before Thanksgiving and I take it down right after the epiphany.  I usually put up my tree the day after Thanksgiving.  Not this year.  I spent Thanksgiving and the day after at the hospital.  We had a heavy snow the day before Thanksgiving and my brother was involved in a head on collision.  He's fine, but he had us really scared.  After seeing his car, we had a really good reason to give thanks, even if we did so at Jack In The Box.

X-mas ...sorry Trish...It's not intended to be a knock on the holiday from me, just a shortcut for typing, but from now on, now that I know it bothers you, I'll try to remember to spell out Christmas.

As for your brother, I hope everything goes well for him & give him my regards...

HERE'S ONE!

I'm sick of going to my mailbox this time of year and getting what appear to be Christmas cards but they're actually SALES FLYERS in a Christmas Card!

Today alone i GOT THREE of them!  One from Office Max, wishing me a merry christmas and giving me a $20 off "gift".  Of course, I have to sspend $150 to use the $20 off card.

I also got a Cable company "christmas card" saying merry Christmas, why not sign up for our new digital phone system.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

I just got back from lunch in which I had to run errands, and so I went to the drive thru of a fast food chain to pick up something to eat.  I usually check my order but this time I didn't because of being in a hurry and wouldn't you know it,  My order was all messed up.  That really makes me mad.  I wish the CEO would pay more attention to the employees that he hires and the training that they do or do not recieve than the flashy characters for his antenna balls.  Thanks for letting me vent.

OK Shout box doesn't always have to be a gripe...I have to point out something funny with the boards here

Jazz Doctor started a thread titled "Guests sign on up, Join A Happy Place", but the thread has since been closed

What better way to say join the club than put a padlock before it with the word (closed) following it

That is funny, Mo.  I didn't even pick up on that.  You're quick today.

I never liked J.D., if I could close ALL his topics I would!

Just kidding, I just closed the topics that no one had responded to after a week, but you're right, it's kind of like inviting someone in and then having the door locked when they get there

Another brand new FFR Board funny ( and he was ragging on my sig anyway) but doesn't Riggs New Avatar kinda defeat the purpose of "Living" Legend?

Great Comedian (and just barely squeaked into the 80's), I do like the new Belushi/Blues avatar, though I'm sad to see Homer go, as in many of your posts I could see you banging your head just like that...

Yeah, everytime I saw the homer head I though "is that REALLY the image I want people to have in their mind when they think of me?"

Not that John's a much better image, but atleast he's got hair and the cool shades!

I also just remembered something...Going back to what Anono-person said back a few posts ago...I just recieved in the mail the WORST example of the "card for advertising" thing

I got a wedding invtation in the mail, and I'm trying to think of which friend got married...I opened it up ....And I was invited to join in the union between ATT Wireless & Cingular Wireless...It was in that offwhite card stock, in a caligrahpic type font, and even had the bit of tissue paper in the card itself to prevent the words from smudging. At the bottom it said (pun very much intended) "Reception to Follow"

How creative...but man...it did irk me a bit, especially after just discussing it earlier in the day.

Ummm, I typo is a mispelled letter!

BELLUCHI instead of BELUSHI is NOT a typo, it's lack of proper KNOWLEDGE!

Actually, something that drives me bonkers IS mis-speak...

it's not LIBARY, it's LIBRARY (2 'R's)

it's not Sammich or Samwich, It's Sandwich (NO M's anywhere, and there IS a D there)

and worst of all, it's not AX, it's ASK (the k sound comes AFTER the S sound...simple phonics people!)

any others that drive you crazy?

See J.D.,

In the midst of my outrage I had an ACTUAL typo, instead of saying "A typo is a mispelled..." I said "I typo is a mispelled".

Now you on the other hand, you simply didn't know how to spell the name of one of the countries great comedic actors, and then you tried to cover up by saying it was a typo.

The real question here is what did you know and when did you know it?  Did you knowingly mislead the American public?  Or were you yourself misled?

I'm afraid a Freeze-Frame Grand Jury is going to have to investigate this.
