Favorite 80's TV show!

Miami Vice? A-Team? Hill Street Blues?

What were you watching back then? Do you now own the series on vhs or dvd to watch over and over again?

My favorite was 120 Minutes on MTV which began airing Sunday nights in 1988, I believe. They featured many bands that I now feature on Underground 80's. I remember seeing The Church's "Under The Milky Way" video debut on this show, thinking it was the strangest yet accessible music that I had ever heard, and then heading out to the record store the next day to pick up the cassette.

Is 120 minutes still even a show on MTV? Does MTV ever play music anymore?

I LOVED that show, and will still stay up until 2 AM to watch it on TV Land in reruns!

A VERY close second for me was GREATEST AMERICAN HERO, which Thank God is FINALLY coming to DVD!

But I NEED Family Ties on DVD, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, Studio heads, are you listening?

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEE!

HEABANGER'S BALL!  I loved it!  JD, I don't think MTV plays music anymore.  I remember waking up for school (with major prompting from my sister, I am NOT a morning person) and turning on MTV to get ready for school.  I love music and can't live without it.  I would listen until I walked out the door and then turn it on when I got home until I had to go to work or play practice (yes, I was and still am a drama queen ).

I remember it was a big deal at my house to watch thursday night tv on nbc in the 80s.  7 pm- The Cosby Show was on, I forget what was next, but at 9 pm there was a show my folks liked, but me and the bro had had enough by then. Maybe it was E.R. or Thirty-Something??

This past Christmas, my dad and I were talking and I said "I cannot believe how much of the past I don't remember." And he said "Hey the problems begin when you remember too much of the past." Good point, Old man. Good point. But what the hell was on after the Cosby show?

I wish I could help you JD, but we didn't get network programming like you guys did.  We got a mixture of different shows all on one channel.  CBS, NBC, PBS, and ABC shows were all shown on our one channel that we got, but we didn't get every show they had.  Only a select few shows were shown.  It makes it really hard for trivia nights when one of the categories is 80's t.v.  I have no idea. Sorry, wish I could help.

My husband and brother-in-law are HUGE little house fans.  I didn't know my brother-in-law was a fan until I mentioned my husband loved it and he said "I have my kids call me Pa, how could you think I don't love it?"  I loved little house, too, when I was younger.  I don't watch it now that much, but when my husband is home with me during a weekday and it's on, we're watching little house.  I never thought I would see the day that my husband would watch the Hallmark channel (not that that's a bad thing. )!

We couldn't get NBC very well so I didn't watch much from that newtork. We could get ABC, CBS and PBS pretty well.

I'm not sure if it was my "favorite" but I didn't miss very many episodes of "The Dukes of Hazard".

Somechick,

I've made this offer many times before but it may have been before you joined the boards.

If work is getting in the way of your posting time I am MORE than willing to contact your boss and set him or her straight on the need for employees to have an "outlet" at work such as Freeze-Frame radio.

I will gladly explain that if they could cut back on your workload a bit and allow you a bit more time to post on the forums you're SURE to be a happier, more productive employee.

Three months after I first made this offer, not one person has taken me up on it. Perhaps you all just don't know how persuasive I can be

And that offer of "setting my bosses straight" is one of the many reasons I continue to tune into Freeze Frame Radio.  That you would take time out of your day to come to my offices and argue on my behalf to lower my workload in order to post.

Riggs..you rock.  It's that simple.

Well, Let's just say, we understand the need for keeping priorities straight here at Freeze-Frame Radio

On my last post I forgot my most favorite 80's show of all,The Wonder Years. I was the same age as Kevin and I had a brother Waynes age whom I also called Butthead. The thing that got me though was Winnie Cooper she was my dream girl!I even had a teacher like Ben Stein except my teacher was 60 and talked out of the side of his mouth. One day we had to watch a three hour silent movie and if he caught anyone sleeping they would automatically fail his class. Daniel Stern was the Narrator (the other guy next to Joe Pesci in the Home Alone movies). I didn't get to marry Winnie Cooper but I came pretty close....

I know that it was not really an 80's show, but I love All in the Family

CP I think All In The Family is perhaps the best show ever. I had watched it as a kid, then it started airing again in syndication at a time that I could watch- I'll bet I have most of them videotaped. I should really bust those out again.

Another great show I was addicted too about a decade ago was Barney Miller. They aired those at 10:30 after the news, and it was brilliant. They hardly EVER left the station- they would take up a philisophical topic and debate different views on it. A laugh here, some whittism there, some wisdom here, some pain there....great tv.

I am sure these exist in many places on cable tv, but I refuse to pay to watch telivsion.

I remember watching all the crime series..."Knight Rider", "Hardcastle and McCormack", "Miami Vice" and "Magnum P.I."....oh, and there was "Kung Fu", but I think that was a 70's series.  I also loved the show on MTV where Kari Wuhrer got her start...I can't remember the name of the show, but I have a feeling some of you 80's guys out there know what I'm talking about.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about "Hardcastle and McCormick". What high school age guy didn't want a "Coyote" to drive to school? I now remember having that conversation with a friend. He couldn't wait until "The Coyote" was available because he was going to get one. I told him it was not going to be available, it was just on the show. He said "no, it's gotta be a real car, it's on TV!"

That's hilarious...does anyone remember "B.J. and the Bear"?

I remember BJ McKay and his best friend Bear.  In fact, my ambition in the late 70s early 80s was to become a truck driver and to have a pet chimp.  Neither happened.

I liked the Cosby Show, Hart to Hart, Duke's of Hazard, TJ Hooker and Mama's Family.

My favorite show of all time growing up has to be I Dream of Jeannie which was in the 70s.   I even joined the Air Force and put in for Coco Beach (Patrick AFB) Florida as my first choice.  I never did make it there or find a Jeannie in a bottle.  Oh well, it was just tv.

Yeah, he's been like Trish. Every few months he comes back and say's he'll be here a lot more often now, then he disappears for three months again

If this cure gets out we could be doomed!
