The City of West Allis must have a salt surplus!

In 30+ years of living in this city I have never seen them salt a side-street.  This weekend I saw them do just that.

Now today I actually saw them salting my ALLEY!!!!!!

Did the cost of salt or for that matter union labor go down this winter?

Nah, I think my city must have sent you guys extra salt or the money to buy more.  Our side streets are a freaking mess!!  They don't plow them or salt them, and haven't done so for the past 3 winters.  furious

Our city doesn't use salt, they use sand.

No, it doesn't work.

back in the 80s and early 90s I worked in a hardware store where one side of the 2 lane street belonged to Milwaukee, the other side to Wauwatosa. Milwaukee salted and plowed and the Tosa side just laid sand down. Woah to those who had to travel east on that street, that sand treatment was garbage. It was funny to watch the people's faces in their cars. The Milwaukee side was all "HA HA" to the tosa side, and the tosa side was like "what the hell!?"smile

How times have changed JD.  I think Tosa does a better job than anyone now keeping their streets plowed and salted.

As a courier I always knew exactly when I entered Tosa from any angle because the streets were wet instead of snow packed.
