My night got much better about an hour ago.  I got a call from the school administrator telling me I didn't have to report in for work tomorrow because the schools will all be closed.  And the best part of the call was they also told me I'd get paid for the day too!!! clap.gif

I'm just about finished with my Christmas shopping.  I went yesterday and put a huge dent in it, haha, but I still have one more thing to get for my oldest girl.  If the roads improve tomorrow, I'll finish it up then.

Wow, are you ever lucky to have two weeks off right now!!!  I have to work Tuesday through Friday, but then I'm off until Jan. 2.   I love the sound of that!biggrin

Oh that's cool Sandy! I'm glad you have the day off tomorrow - it sounds like the weather is really getting treacherous out there. And with pay! clap.gif

You are so prepared - only one gift to go? i have more than a few people to shop for yet! At lest i have a goood idea what I want to get each person though. I just loathe Xmas shopping, so I'm hoping I'll catch some good times where the mall traffic is a little lighter. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Yeah, the mall was horribly crowded yesterday.  I absolutely hate to shop when it's like that, but I got some good deals on things I bought so it made the crush of people more tolerable.  Now all the bags are hidden away waiting for me to start wrapping.  Ugh, I'd rather shop with crowds than wrap gifts.  hmm

And no, I'm not really prepared.......I just realized that I had one week left before Christmas and decided it was time to get my butt in gear.  I haven't even started doing any baking yet.  Maybe tomorrow, since both of my girls will be home all day.......might as well put them to work helping, haha.

Oh, do you mean you actually wrap? laughing.gif i am so bad at it that I have become the gift bag queen!

I tried to brave the malls for a bit yesterday and never made it to the one I really needed to go to. I got sidetracked with a couple other stops, saw the crowds and the increasing snow and decided to go home for wine and relaxation. giggle.gif now that's my idea of a good shopping experience!

laughing.gif Yeah, that sounds like my idea of a fantastic shopping experience!! Well you might be the queen of gift bags, but I'm a close second with those gift boxes that look like they're already wrapped.  biggrin

But there are a few gifts I do have to actually wrap.

Yes they are....they make life so much easier for those of us that are gift-wrapping challenged!!!  laughing.gif

I use them a lot now for most of my gift-giving occasions, haha.  And it's so funny.....last year, I got some of the boxes from the previous year back with a gift for me inside.  biggrin

I know what you mean - my wrapping skills are somewhat equivalent to giving a monkey scissors, paper and tape! Those boxes are so beautifully done that there's no way i could make anything look better! I know what you mean about seeing them come back - my family loved them so much they have recycled them a few tiems, too.

I love to wrap! This year I found some black, red, and silver paper, and some black and silver paper, and I'm wrapping everything with red and silver or plain silver ribbon and red, red and silver, or silver bows. It looks so snazzy! I like to do tons of curling ribbon too, but Jack likes to eat the curling ribbon, so I'm not using any this year. If I think about it, I'll take a picture of the gifts I've wrapped so far this year.

Man, I really need to start a gift wrapping service. Send me all your presents, I'll wrap them at $10 a pop. I bet people would pay that.

Wow, those colors together sound really cool Mz, and I imagine the gifts look all jazzed up! biggrin   See that's what I mean, I'd have never thought of using black, silver, and red together.

I'm sure you could make some extra money at the holidays by wrapping presents for others.  Heck the last time I checked, the mall here was getting $20 to wrap a small gift......smaller than a shirt box.  hmm

Wow, that's awesome Mz! I am not patient enough to make my gifts look pretty. Oddly enough, with as many artistic things I enjoy, wrapping is not among them - and it really is an art!
