80's Crushes

What pop /tv/ movie star did you have a crush on in the 80's??? (or in Rigg's case, last week..AHHAHHHAHAAA). And what was it about them??

Now I know the ladies are going to say John Taylor from Duran Duran (and that that crush still exists AHAHAHAHA). But who else and why?

For me, it was Stevie Nicks. I was 10 when the "Gypsy" video first came out. OMG. I finally "got it". There were no more girl germs, girls were not yucky and stupid any longer. I got it. My dad had to say "son quit touching the tv, wipe that drool off your chin too....."

Let's put a twist on this.  Who was the person that you had a crush on in the 80's that you are embarrassed to admit now?

Actually Patty Smyth was another one of mine too Jeremy - Remember her in the "Hands Tied" video in the slinky long black dress? Very nice.

Oh God Yes!

If I remember correctly wasn't that the off-the-shoulder dress?  Oh MAN she looked good!

She REALLY looked good in the Goodbye To You Video with that tight pink sweater!

The only bad one was that goofie baggie alphabet dress she was wearing in the BEAT OF A HEART video.

MAN SHE WAS GORGEOUS!!!!

I was in love with Michael Landon on Little House.  I just thought he was perfect.  I thought I would grow up one day and marry him.  Of course, later on I thought I would marry John Taylor.  Reality was not my strong suit when I was a child.

I too loved JT. However, the one that I am embarrassed to admit now is George Michael. He hid his gayness well, or I was just young and naive and did not think people were really gay! Now I look at him and think GOD HE IS SO GAY!

I think we were all just naive on that one.

I always point out that their first HIT album DID have the signs.

The two of them lying on a bed together, with those dopey looks on their faces, the name of the album was MAKE IT BIG

We all just failed to read between the lines :)

hahaha- here's a funny memory- when POISON first hit the scene, there was a popular school notebook out with the album cover on it- their four done up faces and me and this other kid going "man those are some ugly rock chicks 'cept for that one is ok I guess".

I thought that Diana Ross was one hottie too.  I used to have a picture of her by my bed.  Its embarrassing now to think about that.

My first Crush was in the 80's and it had to be Kathy Ireland...I saw her for the first time in my dad's Sport's Illustrated, it was the 25th anniversary of the swimsuit issue...it was like sneaking a peak at a Playboy as I was only 10.

I had a huge crush on Martha Quinn.  She was one of the coolest of the 80's VJ's.  I remember her shift ran from like 12-noon to 3:00 pm and I made sure I watched everyday (in the summer anyway).

If we're talking about MTV VJ's, you can't forget about Adam Curry.  I thought he was soooo cute.  All that big hair.  Woohoo, what a man.  I bet he used more hairspray than I did and that's saying something because I know I used a lot of Rave 4.

THere was the blond exotic dj, I think her name was Nina? But there was something adorable about Martha!

I believe that was Nina Black, if I remember correctly.  Then again, it could have been Adam Curry.

Ya, Nina Blackwood was the wild child heavy metal chick and Martha the sweet innocent one.  Both very sexy but I prefer Martha.

As this goes with my "Bedroom Posters answer", I have to again answer Corey Haim.  He had something I couldn't describe.  I also had a huge thing for Kip Winger of Winger fame.  Those blue eyes of his were just to die for.  And then there's Jon Bon Jovi, or "my husband" as I like to call him.  Like a fine wine, I think he's gotten better with age.

Like everyone else on Earth, I keep forgetting which Corey is which....is Haim the Goonie Corey or the other one?

Corey Haim is the Lucas/License to Drive Corey.  Corey Feldman is the Goonies/The Burbs Corey.  There is quite a difference. Ok..no not really.  Both didn't really have a career, both are/have been hopped up on drugs..so, they're actually quite interchangeable.

I loved Kip Winger.  I remember in 1990 (going into 1991) watching him on a New Year's Eve special.  I started off the year with VERY impure thoughts, let me tell you.    He's still a hottie.  I saw him on a VH1 Behind the Music.  I was saddened to hear that his wife, that he loved deeply, was killed in a car accident.

Trish- I completely agree with you.  I think I saw that same VH1 show.  He looks absolutely spectacular. It brought back some great memories.  My mom even thought he was hot back then.

The guys in my high school were very critical of him, but I think it was jealousy.  I was 17 when the song Seventeen came out and all I could think was "Oh, yeah, Baby!".

Yeah..I wasn't quite 17...or any teen for that matter, BUT the point is, he was and still is HOT. Your HS classmates were just very very jealous.
