I just read an article that most women prefer candles over plug ins. I agree, I like them better than the plug ins. Plug ins never last long enough and do not spread out good. I am obsessed with candles! The new febreze ones work great and of course the overly expensive Yankee candles are nice.

I love all that stuff! well not stinky- lol But I will most likely dish out money for candles before plug ins that don't last long. But I also make my own candles some times. I haven't had as much time or money to do it though. I just have to remember to pull them out from the storage pantry and use them!

i've been using reed diffusers. and i love them!

currently, i have lavender in the boys bathroom
and lilly of the valley in my bathroom and bedroom

i put a pumpkin spice in the kitchen, but i think the area is
too large as our living area and kitchen area is esentially
one large room.

secret garden candles are very good too.

Oh I LOVE reed diffusers! I like them for the office - something pleasant and you don't need to burn anything. I have a couple new diffusers at home but I'm looking for the right place to put them out so the fuzzies don't knock them over. Well, and of course, so I don't knock them over, too...

I use them all! I'm always afraid of my house smelling. I currently have:
A vanilla plug-in in the kitchen.
An apple-cinnamon jar candle (a gift, I probably wouldn't have picked apple cinnamon myself) on the kitchen table.
Vanilla cone incense in the entryway area.
2 gingerbread-like smelling tea lights in the entryway area.
A hot chocolate scented jar candle in the living room (that I would rather have in the kitchen, but my hubby wants it in the living room)
This silk rose petal ball thing in the half bath that comes with rose scented spray (again, a gift, I probably would've picked a different scent)
Incense and various candles in the living room.
Various candles, ocean or rain scents, in the full bath.

I don't have a reed diffuser yet, but I'm sure I will acquire one before long.

I love scented candles too, but I am picky about what scent and brand I use. Some of them just don't seem to retain their scent well enough or aren't strong enough. I'm big on clean florals and bakery scents. My favorite candle is Gingerbread!

I got this essential oil burner from Target that I love, too. Two drops and the scent is all over the house for hours, but it isn't overpowering. I have Dragonfruit and Bamboo Jasmin, and they are so soothing!

i have an essential oil burner too. those are also wonderful!

for christmas, one of our salesmen gave us a wood-wick candle. it is so cool! it makes a crackling sound -- like a fireplace -- when it's lit, and the room smells like i have a fireplace. smile.gif

do you have gordman's? that's where i get mine. i've also picked some up at kohls...

Do you mean reed diffusers? I get them at Target, JoAnn Fabrics, or order form PartyLite.

ok Ruby its story time...picture mothers day 2005 (yes my very first mothers day) I get a giftcard to get my hair done. the day before mothers day..and that was it...no card. Then a week later I find two cards still in the bag with the receipt in a storage closet in the house. The dufus forgot to give me the cards he bought. no.gif

I love Yankee candles, but I'm picky about the scents I use.  During the cold months I use Sage & Citrus througout the house.  I buy their room sprays in the same scent, and I use their car jars in my car.  During the spring and summer, I change everything to Ocean Breeze. 

I have a lot of candles and diffusers I've received as gifts, but truthfully I usually don't like the scents.  Most are too overpowering for my taste. And I'm not a big fan of the plug-in oil diffusers because of the oily residue some leave behind when used.   hmm

 Too funny! My husband has bought me probably two cards ever, the first one said:


 

Wanna see something sexy? And you open it and it has a mirror. That was our first (should have been the last!) Valentine's Day. Not very romantic!

Then when he started his addiction mess he bought me a card about loving me and being sorry, yada yada, he gives it to me, with nothing written on- nothing! No names or signatures or anything!
