My head just exploded

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND ARE HEADLINING THE HARLEY-DAVIDSON 105TH!!! clap.gifnumber1.gifparty.gif

I can't wait to get tickets - as an employee I'll get to buy tickets before they are sold to the general public. I'm so there!

(And finally, people will stop bugging me about why the heck Harley ever booked Elton John as their 100th headliner. nod.gif)

Just saw this on Backstreets.com - a Springsteen site:

Pull that cycle out of the garage
Harley's 105thBruce & E Street Band to play Harley's 105th in August
On August 28-31, Harley-Davidson celebrates its 105th anniversary at the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee, and they've just announced that Springsteen and the E Streeters will play as part of the festivities on Saturday, August 30.

While acts like ZZ Top, the Black Crowes, Buddy Guy, and Foghat play the Summerfest Grounds as part of the Harley celebration, the Springsteen show will be an additional concert held outside the Summerfest Grounds at the Roadhouse at the Lakefront, requiring a separate $40 ticket in addition to the $60 105th Anniversary ticket (available now). According to The Business Journal, 60,000 general admission tickets will be sold for the Springsteen show. Only 105th Anniversary Ticket Holders can purchase Springsteen tickets, which go on sale April 5 at 8 a.m. Central.

Yeah, I just ordered my passes for the 105th...I plan to go see some of the other bands anyway, so I don't feel like I had to buy the passes special just to get Springsteen tickets. This is going to be an expensive concert season though! I'll drop $25 a ticket for Aerosmith if I can get my friend to buy them for me, then $60 per pass for the 105th, and then there's the Springsteen tix. I can't really complain though...it's really quite inexpensive for ticket prices, and what great music to experience!

Yeah, we needed to have a really good lineup to make up for the Elton Joh trauma of the 100th Anniversary. I have never seen so many people split from the beginning of a headline concert! no.gif

I felt bad for Elton, but he should have known better than to take the gig. I mean COME ON. Elton John and Harley?

Elton does have Harley fans, but mostly from the music and performance style of his early days. His ego or his pocketbook had to be the motivator behind taking that gig.

I'm interested to see what Steven Tyler will do during the celebration. I know we gave him riding lessons not long ago, so I wonder if he's going to be in the parade or ride onto stage...
