All the basics (oil change, tire rotation, etc) then they did a tune up ($250) which they think MAY fix the stalling problem and they had to clean out the air intake which was highly contaminated (not sure what the charge is) now they're replacing the water pump which is leaking ($150).
I just walked down there to look at the leaking pump, it's definately leaking :(
I think this is gonna be about $700 when all is said and done and it's not even guaranteed to solve the stalling problem.
Well, the positive side is I should be able to take my trip to NC without too much worry. They did what I asked them to and looked for potential problems.
If the water pump went when I was halfway between here and NC I'd be in a pickle.
with our tax return we will probably be able to pay off my car. The downside- it needs a new radiator and has several other problems. On top of that the truck is still broke because we don't have the money to fix it.
