Uh oh, Wisconsin taxpayers better get ready

The Journal Sentinal is reporting that the projected tax revenue fell FAR short for this year and as a result our states operating budget is at a deficit SIXTY PERECT larger than expected!

We'll be operating at 650 MILLION in the hole this year.

We're already one of the top five tax hells in the country, I think we're about to further up that list hmm.gif

One idea for cutting taxes is put in some synthetic grass on those darn medians (sic?) or just do away with them all together.

Our city is full of those things and 8 months of the year we pay union wages to be out there cutting the lawn and planting flowers.  I'd be just fine with some sport turf in the middle of the road.

Well, this is always a risk when you're spending money you HOPE to have.

They assume the economy is going to grow every year and increase their budget to make sure they gobble up every last penny.

Then you have a downturn in the economy, tax collections drop and the budget can't be met.

It's going to be real interesting to see what they come up with. They already raised the annual license plate renewal fee through the roof this year.

I was talking to Jennifer, she said in NC they pay $11 a year in a car tax. No $75 plate fee! Just one example of where Wisconsin rapes it's residents.

Now they'll be looking for some more opportunities to bend us over and have their way with us angered.gif

And the ironic addendum to the median landscaping is that some of them obstruct the view of traffic. The plants they put in are so tall that they hide traffic. Duh! doh

lol. That's very true.

By July some of the medians are more like green walls, expecially if you're driving a smaller car.

Here's one idea Doyle has.  Because a tax on hospital revenues would NEVER be passed on to the consumer right?  I beleive this is what they call a hidden tax.  hmm.gif

Doyle could again call for a new tax on hospital revenues, which estimates last year said would have attracted $418 million more in additional cash.

Republicans who control the Assembly blocked that proposal and still oppose it, said an aide to Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch (R-West Salem).
