I'm here, that's about it. I am a bit stressed and depressed about what to do with our tax money. As usual both cars need repairs so will most likely not be able to pay off the car as we hoped. There were other things we talked about doing with the money but I doubt we will have enough to do those things.

I also got cornered this morning into having to go out with my sister Saturday. I couldn't argue because we haven't in a long time, but it's not a highlight of my weekend. Now I have to figure out what to do. She brought up stuff that costs money and I don't want to spend much right now. She is looking towards evening so things will be limited...

Permanent Vacation

I feel your pain Woo. We were hoping to pay off some debt and go on a small vacation to visit my grandparents with the money from our return and my tax season job. But with a new car and a new computer, I'm not sure if we'll be able to do either of those. And now, I think the CD player in the new car went out. It worked at first, but now when I put a CD in, it makes a clicking sound then spits the CD back out. I'll have to double check, but I would guess that the CD player isn't covered by the car's warranty.

Happy Thursday.

My friend that runs weekly routes for work sent me an email with pictures from a news site of a totally wrecked pickup.

He said the he was on the interstate and it was slick. The pickup was on the other side of the interstate and lost control. When he hit the median, he started rolling and rolled all the way across the median and into my friend's lane of traffic. He said he just missed the truck by a few feet as it rolled across the road in front of him.

He said he could tell the guy's arm was totally messed up and the guy was holding his left thumb in his right hand and pressing it up against where it used to be attached to slow down the bleeding.

My friend called the guy a few days later and he's going to be ok once he heals but they were unable to save his thumb.

He's pretty thankful he didn't leave his motel two seconds earlier that morning.

wow! A coworker here had a freaky thing happen the other day. She was at her mother-in-law's. They went to head for their car in the apartment complex parking lot when they remembered something and turned back towards the apartment. Just then another car wen flying over a snowbank and landed on their car! I saw the pictures! That car had some airtime! Neither have insurance and her car is a lease. no.gif

How do you lease a car and not have insurance? I think insurance laws vary by state. But I know here that would not fly and the minute you fall behind on your insurance they let everyone know- the dept of motors, lenders...

I have no idea. She probably had it and dropped it when she didn't have any money which is often. I have never leased and know very little.

I just got back from spending most of the day with doctors.  My youngest daughter slipped on ice last night while she was coming out of band practice.  This morning she was complaining how hard it was for her to breathe and that it hurt with every breath, so I called the doctor.  She examined her, said she thought my daughter may have some broken ribs and sent us for x-rays.  Sure enough, she has 4 that are broke and also compressed two discs in her back.  They gave her some pain meds and also some type of muscle relaxers and they want to see her back later next week.  If the muscle relaxers don't help with the discs, she may have to have back surgery.  She's not a happy girl right now and is in quite a bit of pain.  I hope the pain pills will relieve some of it for her.

I'm hoping she won't have to have it either Woo.  It's a wait and see approach right now.   She's all upset because tennis practice will be starting next month (indooor) and she knows if she has to have surgery, she won't make the team this year.
