AC/DC Return To The Studio After Eight Years

Australian rockers AC/DC
are preparing to end an eight year chart absence by heading back to the
studio to record a new album. The band has released a variety of
re-mastered LPs over the last few years, but there hasn't been any fresh material recorded since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip.

But
now the group have announced plans to reunite next month to record a
new LP, and the bandmates are also considering embarking on a major
world tour.

Bassist Cliff Williams says, " We're going to get
together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will (tour).
(When) the last tour ended in early 2001, you'd see kids on their dads'
shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be
tremendous to see that again.

imagine that....a classic band from the 70's/80's getting together to tour....could it be the greenbacks speaking (sorry so cynical...)

No, they've never "retired."  They've been together the whole time.  But they're old, and inspiration doesn't come as often.  And they've been out touring.

I saw the "Fly on the Wall" tour.  1985, I believe.  smile.gif

I think we all are.  But at this point, it's take what you can get, I guess.
Ever hear Rhinobucket?  They have a real Bon-era AC/DC sound.

Yes it does!  Let me take a guess here...  Was that the first AC/DC album you heard all the way through?

Oh, OK.  My bad then.  Bon just had a lot more personality in his singing and songwriting.  More humor and the rock & roll swagger thing going on.  I love Brian too, though.
