Thursday

Morning all! I am getting ready to work out but needed to email someone, so I thought I would say hi! The boy gets his braces off today and I must say that I feel blessed that I was able to provide them for him. Our meeting went good yesterday and he has been placed on a waiting list for the STAR program. It is an intensive outpatient treatment with school and shrink stuff. He appears to just be depressed and does not possess the inner motivation to succeed. Nothing seems to work, so I am hoping this will. It has been a hard year and I finally feel this is medical and not defiance. He has been calm and out of trouble, but he is failing every class and no matter what we do, he has no desire to start doing better. I know it is hard to understand, just pray for us. My heart is in constant turmoil over this as is my marriage. But I finally think even Duane realizes he is not being a punk and not just being lazy. He was drug tested again and that was ok, so now we move forward. He is such a bright kid, so I am hopeful this program will break this streak. I must say that besides not doing school work, he has been trouble free at school and for the most part at home.

Okay enough rambling, I needed to get that off my chest. Now I am going to try to take care of myself, which I stopped doing for a bit, and go workout!

Have a great- I'll be back later!

:)

It's my Friday today......teachers have meetings all day tomorrow so I won't have to be at work.  Right now we're waiting for the mail to arrive.....wish it would get here so I can get the day over.

Hope everyone has a good day!!  smile

It sounds weird, but for your sake, I hope it is medical. That would definitely explain a lot, and you'd have some sort of treatment plan.

I'm very grumpy today. I'm a little stressed out, and my husband was in a mood last night. I think Woo has to deal with these sorts of moods with her hubby too. I'm worried that he'll be that way for the whole trip, and I just can't deal with that right now.

Good luck Rubes!

Well I know it's bad when my husband is wishing for a snow day tomorrow. He said that he has had it with this week! Then we get to work and my sister is all excited about her news, which is that her husband won custody of his kids, that she forgets my husband's birthday and makes plans to celebrate her news on his birthday! This did not make him happy. So I pulled her aside to tell her but we couldn't talk much because she was trying to make her plans a surprise for her husband and he kept lingering in the area.
The girl called and we are going out to dinner on Friday for his birthday as well.

Have a good day all

Mz, I hope your husband comes out his mood.  That's the last thing you need to deal with right now.  cry

argh, the dry, itchy throat I woke up with is turning into some coughing. I went to bed early- not sick-, so why do I feel bad now? hmm

As many sore throats and such as you and your husband have Woo I wish you would really get a mold check up for the house. cry.gif
I know it's scary but prolonged exposure is bad m-kay! I are worried about you two.

awww we're ok. I have always been a little sicky regardless of where I live. Also the place we work is as bad as working in a school or doctor's office. Colds and such just fly through here.

My 2nd grade teacher called my Sicko for that reason and because she couldn't pronounce my last name that ended in "sick"

Before I check the American Idol thread, we have the last two weeks DVR'd. Is it a spoiler thread?

Woo, I know I sound like a broken record, but have you ever had an allergy test? It's amazing how an allergy can just beat you down, make you feel sick all the time, and compromise your immune system.

Thanks guys, I am hoping for a medical reason too. He told me he was okay about going into the program and that he will even ride publci transportation to get home. The program is from 8-3 and it is about a half an hour from my job. THe morning drive would be okay, but to leave work everyday at 2:30 would be too much to ask. So I was glad that he is stepping up. He also has not complained about leaving high school for a bit. I feel like he really needs this and is glad we are doing it. Otherwise he would let me know, he is not one to hold back.

Feel better Woo and Mr Woo. Be safe MZ and I will pray that Brian calms down a bit and can be there for you.smile

one thing that always gets me aggravated and I know it shoes is trying to get my husband to say goodbye and leave from somewhere.

He will say that we need to get going and then drag his feet forever! When you get me ready to leave, I am ready to go right then and there.

We screwed up.

We got home for lunch and no electricity.

We at first assumed that it was a problem but then I remembered getting the disconnect notice a few days ago. I asked Mrs. Web if she paid the bill and she replied "No, I thought you were going to".

Awe crap. So I went to the utilities expecting to pay the bill and a $25.00 fee.

The lady informed me that there will be a $40.00 reconnection fee. I was like $40.00? Sheesh . . . ok, it was our mistake.

Then she added that she would also need a $100.00 deposit. I was like "WHAT? Are you kidding me?".

She said "No, I'm very serious, are you new to this address?". I said "Um, no, we've lived in, and made the utility payments on this this house for 13 years and this is the first time we've been turned off . . . and you are telling me we have to pay another deposit?"

"Yup"

I asked, "So, when do we get this deposit back?" She said "Ummmm, I guess I don't know that, I'll have to ask Jenny" (we know Jenny). Jenny came to the window and with an attitude said "After you've made your payments by the 10th for 24 consecutive months, you'll get your deposit back."

I had to shut up to keep from saying something I shouldn't . . . or might regret.

The bank where my wife works is just around the corner from the utilities so I went in and filled her in on the extra $140 check I had to write. My wife was just as shocked as I was about the required deposit. She had the same problem I do, about how long we've lived at that address and a deposit now being required after our first time of not getting our bill paid.

My wife kind of grinned and said "Ok, Miss Jenny, next time (and apparently there are lots of times) you overdraw or are late with your mortgage payment and come to me with a sob story about how and why it happened, there will be no waving of fees."

Man, paybacks suck.

Well, not so much as revenge as it will be the same level of lack of grace and understanding.

My wife said that this lady comes in the bank all the time playing the victim whining about all kinds of personal problems. She said for the next 24 months she will sit there and listen and then go "Gee, thats really sad, Jenny . . . but you are still overdrawn and you owe us for the fees."

clap.gif  Yay for Mrs. Web!!  I hope she socks the fees to Miss Jenny every chance she gets!  smile

If it's any consolation Web, if your gas/electric gets shut off here, you have to pay a $250.00 deposit.  I know this because I was just there to pay my bill and the woman ahead of me had her's shut off.....they told her without the $250 deposit, they wouldn't turn it back on for her.

I know some people constantly abuse the system, but that is insane.

"If you want the privelage of being our customer, paying your bill plus our extra fees is not enough."

It sucks that utilities can get away with that stuff because they have the monopoly on the city.

I felt sorry for this woman today....she was a little old lady, I'm guessing late 70's, early 80's.  She told them her husband had been in the hospital for the past two weeks and between dealing with his illness and going to the hospital to see him she forgot about paying her bill.  She asked if she could pay half the deposit today and half next month, but they told her no--she had to have all of it today.  She was crying when she walked away from the counter.  cry

And I bet you they've paid their bill every month on time for that last 40 years. no.gif

I always do my best thinking in the shower - I just got out.

I know what I should do. Since our utilities department decided they can no longer trust us even after 13 years of paying our bill, I think it would be best to pay with cash so they don't have to question if our checks are good.

Since I don't have $95 in paper cash laying around here, I should go to the bank and get it all in mixed coins. Then, when paying the bill with $95 of mixed coins, demand that they provide me a cash receipt which will mean they have to count it right there.

Yeah, that might be fun.
