I woke up and I feel worse than I did and don't really want to be at work. I get to work and I get thrown a paper to fill some stuff out for my evaluation. This is new and one of the questions just ticked me right off. They want me to list fundraising events that I have attended. I will check with my husband first but I believe they want to know what I have volunteered to do. i'm sorry, what does that have to do with my job performance?!furious Most often I will not volunteer because it always has something to do with handling money which I refuse to do. I'm not good at it and they already don't trust me. The last auction we had I did not sign up to volunteer but my husband did. I still helped seperate and organize raffle tickets- prep work. However in the staff newsletter we recieved yesterday, I wasn't recognized. Today is a day I just want to walk out and tell them to kiss my azz.

That stinks Woo!!  I bet they're looking to see which employees are "team players" by volunteering their personal time to help benefit the company.  hmm

Good Morning everyone, I hashed out my first mile this morning in 22 minutes on the treadmill. I think I'm in better shape than I thought I was. I was bored the other day so I stopped by the Boys Club Thrift store and found a Pro-Form Crosswalk treadmill for $35.00 so I snatched it up. I have been looking for a couple of months now but I was usually too late calling on the ones I found in the paper. Plus they wanted anywhere from $75.00 to $300.00 for them. I actually feel pretty good after excercising, I'm more awake than usual. I might even do another mile or so tonight.

I used to get alot of excersise but two different desk jobs for 10 years has taken it's toll on me. I haven't felt good for a couple of years now so I figure I better get back on track. It's so easy just to sit around but If I can make myself do it it's not so bad after you get started. I just hope my knee doesn't start acting up, that's what happened last time I got on the excersise trip.

morning, folks!

I felt like I could just spit nails yesterday after the meeting with the principal! In a nutshell he told me boys will be boys, and that he will have to take summer school for failing last tri algebra. He doesnt see his loud, obnoxious, c o ck of the walk, attitude as something that is a problem that he wont grow out of in time. I reminded him that he only sees this during the lunch hour, and doesnt have to sit through it day after day like the instructors do! Then he reminded me that if it was really that big a problem they would send him to the counselor (where hes never been). I just have a problem believing that this is the way boys are and that its normal and ok and that they grow out of it! Right now, I think hes just another jerk jock No sports for Isaac -- hes taking dance and gymnastics biggrin.gif

Woo, just be diplomatic about it and tell them that you'll lend a hand with the prep work (throw in "Like I did last time"), "because that works out best for me, and I know it really helps you guys too..." Be calm and in control, girl! Sounds like they're trying to push your buttons so they can justify being petty!

Friday -- BIG YAY!
Smiles everyone! Smiles!
Its all fun and games

I love my desk job but yeah not so great on the body. I'm hoping to get exercising soon. i almost have the room ready. We have a Total gym in the spare room, but we cluttered up that area.

I gotta get back to walking again myself. I did feel better when I was doing it faithfully. I've put the weight back on that I had lost. It still helps me to concentrate more on the overall health benefits than just my spare tire.

For me, its more the time thing than the will or desire. I was doing so well, then I missed a day. Then two days. Then five days. Pretty quickly that hour of the day was filled up with other things and it was hard to keep that time free.

My dog would be happier if I'd get to walking again too.

I went the treadmill route so I could excercise in the comforts of my own home, watch tv or listen to Freeze Frame if I wanted to. Plus when I would take walks last summer with Little A I had to stop and talk to all the neighbors on the way, kind of hard to keep focused that way.

I've never really tried to keep up a routine on a treadmill.

One thing that helps me with going out to walk though, is that once I get to where I feel I've had enough and want to quit, I could do that if I was on a treadmill. If I'm still a mile from home and want to be done, it doesn't matter, I gotta push it on the rest of the way back home.

I have plenty of tech podcasts that I enjoy and that I can listen to when I'm walking. I can just dump them onto my phone, plug in the headphones and I'm good to go. Those work better for me than music because when they are talking about technical, or even entertaining issues, I have to think about what they are saying which keeps my mind occupied.

The biggest advantage for me that I could see about a treadmill is being able to do it in any weather, and that I could still do it when home alone with the boy. He enjoys going for walks too, but I can't get much real exercise or get the heart rate up when walking with him.

My biggest problem is I always go for seconds, I'm going to just stick to one portion and lay off the seconds. Or If I go to McDonald's If I order a dollar menu chicken sandwich I would get two. This is all gonna stop for me. We'll see how it goes.

I'm trying but the more I talk to people around here, the more I get irritated. People need to leave me alone and just let me work.

I wrote the other day how my sister went and planed this big party/dinner for a celebration for her husband on my husband's birthday...
well she just asked me if we thought we were gonna make it to the party. I told her that it sounded like he wanted to do something separate for his birthday. She kinda snottily asked "what does that mean"? I had to spell it out. He wants to do something just the 2 of us. I think she is mad now. Maybe I am wrong, but it seemed like it. But why does he want to spend his birthday with a bunch of people that he would not invite over for his birthday?

well its just a banner day for traffic on this white-trashville side of town in which I work.hmm

So I opted for culvers, which is a mere 3 blocks away. In this 3 blocks I saw a car stalled in traffic (dummy did not have the sense to throw on the flashers or pop the hood or SOMETHING to alert others that there's a problem. just sitting there....in the car......

I pull up to culvers and this white girl, but  the kind of white girl that has afroid- sheen in her hair, is on her celly phone and totally overshoots making a left turn. So. while still on the cell phone, and totally blocking 4- way traffic, decides to back up. its kind of hard to do this while turning the steering wheel the wrong way with one arm and talking on the cell phone. So she backs right into a van. The most upset person seemed to be the person blocked in while trying to exit through the entrance way by the way....against traffic.....what a mess that whole thing will be to explain to the officer....if indeed an officer comes even.....

no.gif I hear ya. I swear we play the game every time we are on the road. Let's try to avoid an accident today. My husband swears that there is a stealth button installed on our vehicles that we unknowingly keep hitting, because everyone and their brother acts if they can't see us and pull out in front of us!

Sometime when you're back in shape I'll come race out west. My brother in law in AZ always wants me to come down and race with him. Good to hear. I can't hurt! (or can it?)smile
