Take a local band off the request list?

Remember my friend Marc?  The one who played with The Wina-Freds, and then with Bailiff?  Well, Bailiff fired him.  They said he wasn't good enough to play with them.  Marc is the most amazing bass player I know!!!  (No offense, Web.  You out-rock many other people in other ways.)  Marc also knows how to produce music, and he's an experienced musician.  They're stupid to get rid of him.  Yes, Marc is my friend, but even if he wasn't, I would think he's amazingly talented.

Well, I'm bitter, and I don't want to give Bailiff any more publicity.

But at the same time, I don't feel it's fair to ask them to be taken off the request list.

But, it's not like their requested a lot.  And, the only reason they're really on the request list is because Marc's my friend.

So what do you think?  Should we take Bailiff off?  Or am I being terribly selfish and unfair?

Wow,

I'm sorry to hear about this MZ. I understand you're wanting to support your friend and pull the music.

If it were a more popular band I'd say it was not a reasonable request, but the only reason they were on the list in the first place is because you had a connection to them so we wanted to support them and you.

Unless anyone objects strongly because they like the music I'd just as soon remove it.

Let's me honest, 99.99 percent of people who visit the site wouldn't have a clue who they were anyway.

None taken. I know I'm not a great bass player but that just gives me incentive to keep practicing to get better. smile.gif

I want to hear from the person who said no. Is it on principle, or because you like them? I'm weary of taking it off now because even one person said no.

As long as you're not being "mean" about it or slinging in accurate info... we should stand up for what we believe. I'm sure that you don't hope the worst for the remaining members or replacement bassist. This could be the best thing that happens to a person. Some day, maybe thanks for firing me. I wish I could lose my job sometimes. It would force me out in to the real world again.idea

Don't feel bad about it MZ.

I made the decision to remove it.

I've had complaints before about searches coming up with too much unknown music, so when there's a really obscure band like that, the only reason I have to keep them on the list is because of a personal connection like the one you had. If not for your recommendation they never would have been added.

If someone wants to hear them I always have it on the system so I can play it (remember, we have about 250,000 songs that AREN'T listed but are available for airplay none the less if I'm on air (yeah, like that ever happens).

Actually though, with this move I'm doing a MAJOR rummage sale on May 4 and May 11. I've taken Freeze-Frame Business Cards, flipped em' over and using them as price tags. Hopefully when people pull the card off they'll see the other side and give us a listen.

We might see a surge of listenership after those two weekends! smile.gif

Oh, good thinking!
