Since this is my first St. Patty's Day being Irish*, perhaps I should change my avatar to something green...



* My grandpa was adopted.  After my grandma died, while going through her paperwork and records and such, my uncle found some of my grandpa's papers, and one of his parents had an irish last name.  So we figure we've got some irish in us too.

I am not Irish. I think I'm everything but Irish - lol
But I had a rough morning and forgot what today is and didn't wear green. hmm
Things went ok yesterday at my Mom's. It was actually a nice visit. It's a good thing we celebrated her birthday early since the girl wants to meet with my hubby tomorrow. My sister is gonna drive me home. So yes there is more drama ahead. yay. She is either gonna ask about money or actually have a discussion. My husband has prepared his notes. He has bottled up a lot of stuff. I told him that it feels like there is a rock just sitting in my stomach now. He said that it was time for all this stuff to come to the surface though. Either way I'll be on edge. cry

I'm home with the boy today . . . snow day . . . no school. Its supposed to snow quite a bit more.

For now, the boy is still sleeping in his bed, the dog is curled up on the couch, and I'm in my chair wrapped up in a blanket watching it snow outside.

Good morning all! Hope you have a great day! Not much going on here - I forgot to wear green, but I'm not Irish  so I always seem to forget about St. Pat's. I did make some awesome corned beef with potatos, carrots and cabbage yesterday though, so I'll have that for lunch in honor of the day. Yum! hungry.gif Anyone going out to celebrate tonight?

Happy St. Paddy's Day all!!  I have some Irish in me but didn't wear any green today....in fact I don't think I own anything green anyway.  With everybody talking about corned beef, cabbage and potatoes, I have to say that I've never had it....ever!  Hmmm, maybe I should've went out for some for dinner tonight just to see what it's like. 

Looks like we've got some nasty weather coming in for tonight.  Snow is supposed to start around 8:00, last through midnight, then change over to several hours of freezing rain.  Yuck!!!  cry

If any of you are going out celebrating with green beer tonight, please be careful driving home.  smile

Sometime, long ago... my family messed with being Irish. Now, mostly German/etc.
Did you see the green pizza in New York. Independent dealer. Very strange looking.

That's interesting. Does that mean you are related to the line of Ulster Scots? When did your family emigrate to the US?

Oh OK. Does that kind of thing ever make you wonder though? I'd really like to know more about my lineage and when families came to the US, but the info is hard to track down except my grandma...she was the first and only in her family to come to the US.

I think some linneage work was done on my moms side of the family, I'd like to revisit that one day.smile.gif

Oh you are so bad! Well at least Salvation Army bell ringers have an honest trade. My dad's dad was a Delessio from a Sicilian family, and their professions were somewhat questionable from what I hear. hmm

I agree.  One of these days when I have free time (ha!), I'd like to do some geneology work.  But I've dabbled into that before, and it's hard work.
