I know what those are Web, only my family calls them grout brout. The name my family has for them is actually German, but I don't know how to put the correct spelling in for it.......you have to roll the r's and the brout comes out sounding more like brooke, but not exactly.

Does your wife make her own bread dough for them? I used to use Spruance Bread Mix when I made them, but haven't been able to find this here for the past 2 or 3 years. Would you please ask your wife if she makes her own bread dough or purchases a mix? If she uses a store bought bread dough mix, what kind is she using?? I really, really want to make these again but would rather not go through the hassle of making my own dough if I don't have to.

I'm pretty sure she is making her own bread but I'll ask for sure.

There is a franchise of restaurants here in Nebraska and a couple neighboring states called "Runza". We are getting a Runza restaurant in our town right now. They are working on remodeling a building for it and it should be open soon. I love the mushroom-swiss runza. Yum - mie.

I tried to call her earlier, but she was on the phone so she just now called back.

She said, yes, she does make her own bread but one of her coworkers uses frozen dough. She was going to ask the coworker how she did it. I will then post that and her recipe this evening.
