TGIF

And I mean that in the most spiritual way! Today I am taking the boy to get his permit, I did not realize he has to wait another 180 days to get his license. I was hoping to take him in June so he can get a summer job. Anyway from there he wants to meet a group of boys to play basketball and I will go shop for our Easter dinner. Then E and I will go see Horton hears a Who and then head to the Aquarium. Tonight church at 8.

I had a real spiritual experience yesterday. We are pretty broke from the hubby going 4 weeks with no check during the holidays and I have been stressing about the upcoming Disney trip. Also our camera finally died and I could not imagine going there with no camera or even a disposable one. Also I offered to replace the boy's Zune if he would agree to assist the tee ball coach and pay for his 300 dollar driver's ed if he passes another drug test today. So we are already financing the trip and now I need another $1000! A former student of mine hit me up yesterday for some money to help her join a sorority and I went to buy a good friend some gifts, one was a very good parenting book, that my heart knew she needed, but I really had no business spending any money. Well I spent and told the ladies at work that I believe that if I spend that money for the betterment of my family and friends that God will replace it soon. Well I got home and there was a $1000 check from the Dept of Social Services, they had garnished Zach's dad's tax check cause he owes $1000s in back child support. Anyway, call it karma or a coincidence, but it gave me chills and a smile that is still here. Trust me I do not believe that I was rewarded, because good choices do not always equal good outcomes, it just reaffirmed my faith.

Anyway have a great! This weekend I am hoping will draw my family closer than ever. This is the first Easter that my family is going to church as a family and I am not worried that the hubby will not go next weekend. He has been by my side every weekend for months nowsmile

And now with out further delay I present the joke of the day........

Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor grill and cook

a venison steak. But, all of Bubba's neighbors were Catholic. And since it

was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on Friday. The delicious

aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing such a problem for the

Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their priest. The Priest came

to visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic.

After several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass...and as the

priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, 'You were born a Baptist, and

raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic. 'Bubba's neighbors were

greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the wonderful aroma of

grilled venison filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called immediately

by the neighbors, and, as he rushed into Bubba's yard, clutching a rosary

and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully

sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted:

"You wuz born a deer, you wuz raised a deer, but now you a catfish."

That's a tough call. What is "good" or "bad". (lazy, stupid etc are so subjective)
When I was youger, someone told me that good deeds, done without selfish reason, will come back to you. They also mentioned that any bad things you do will come back "seven fold" As I get older, some of the things I did when I was young are now what I would consider bad. Then, it was fun or just for fun.
Sorry to be heavy. I'm an "angry" person according to some. That's based on the opinion of the person that reports it. To many wimps. They pee their pants if conflict comes about rather than rising to the ocassion and accepting the role of leader.
Hey, TGIF.
We're makin' snow cones later! (mine will look similar to a cosmopolitan)

Ruby that is great! This is the 2nd great thing I have heard very recently! Another online friend of mine is in major financial problems and is in need of major surgery. She sold her website trying to bring some money back in. The other day she found out that she won $1,000 in a contest from a website that she works on. She was so happy! She said that this would pay for the copay for the surgery! smile

I am so glad it is Friday! I am just so tired! There were a bunch of call-ins today at work and my husband looks like he is ready to fire a bunch of people. I'm sure he is glad that it is Friday as well.

I agree Squonk, the parenting book I am reading states:

You are completely responsible for the choices you make. (not genes or childhood...)
If you make bad choices, bad things will happen- not always right away, but sooner or later.
If you make good choices, bad things are less likely to happen.

TGIF! Still busy here, but see a light (as long as it's not an oncoming train). I have to work at the tax office tonight and do grocery shopping. Then tomorrow I have to work at the tax office again, and then do some other shopping. Then on Sunday, I have a friend coming over that I haven't seen for months. In fact, he needs to open his Christmas present!

Rest? Hm, probably not this weekend. I'll sleep when I'm dead.

Ruby, so glad to read you received an unexpected windfall from your Ex!  That must help ease some worries you've had. smile

I've always been a firm believer in everything happens for a reason.  Even bad choices can have a very positive outcome, depending on what you learned from those so called bad choices. To me life is about learning, and I learn best by making some mistakes along the way.  I really try not to pigeon-hole my choices as good or bad because all of my choices have helped shape me into the kind of person that I am, and they've all taught me things I probably never would have learned any other way.  smile

I'm at home today and so are the rest of my family members.  Here it is almost 11:00 and I'm the only one that's awake!!  They must all be tired out today.   Anyway I'm going to start on those runza soon.....they will be yummy for dinner tonight!! biggrin

Hope all of you have a good day!  JD, sorry about all the snow you guys are supposed to get, but I'm glad it's not going to be falling on me!!  LOL!!

Speaking of stories. I have had a string of bad luck if you all haven't figured that out by now. They things come in 3's well, I am convinced in my case they come in 33's!!

But not to trouble you with my bad kharma, I'll fill you in on the good stuff:

My brother is 10 week + in recovery, enduring accupuncture treatments and going to NA meetings often!! I am very, very pleased.

I go to church now every sunday (and tonight too at 7), I found a great one locally, it's a Congregational Church, not Catholic, but I LOVE IT!! And I love my Pastor, he is an amazing man!! With so much positive energy!

I am still sorting things out w/ the BF he neither lives w/ me or doesn't live w/ me, he just comes by the house once or twice a week. But usually to help me w/ things. Financially he does sorta help but (not like he used to) he does things like clean up, yardwork stuff now instead, etc....

I still do not have the internet at my desk at my job.

I dropped my cell phone so that is broken right now til i get the money to replace it!

And Kaisha is doing okay, she just landed a nice 35 hour per week job doing reception work as a "reservation manager" for the corporate office of U-Haul... she love it too!!

Wish you all a very nice Easter, and God Bless!
